Returning them to the desktop is usually not difficult, since in most cases the widget only stops being displayed on the display, remaining in the device’s memory. We will tell you further how to return the clock to the Android screen or, if necessary, install new ones from the Google application store.

How to return an installed widget

If you accidentally deleted your watch or it disappeared, try displaying it on the screen in the simplest way:

If you deleted the application with the widget, read below on how to install a similar one. Google Play.

Clock widgets

Let's consider further best programs with graphic modules for the main screen of the gadget from those presented in the official application store. Basically, in addition to displaying the time, they also provide a lot of other information, for example, the weather directly at the user’s location according to data received by the utility via GPS.

Transparent clock and weather

This is one of the most popular free clock widgets with more than 10 million installations. The small program has very flexible settings, as a result of which the owner of the gadget can set the display on the display the way he needs it. Utility features:

  • the presence of various beautiful and informative widgets in sizes 2x1, 4x1-3, 5x3;
  • wide selection of design themes, covers, fonts;
  • display other than exact time important information— about the weather, wind direction, humidity and pressure, battery charge, calendar events, etc.

If the device owner does not need all this data provided by the utility by default, he can delete it in the settings and leave just the clock. For this:

  1. Tap your finger on the time display on the screen, which will open the settings window.
  2. Go to the "Appearance" section, then to "Advanced Settings".
  3. Uncheck the boxes next to the items displaying information about the current location, system information, battery charge and check the box next to the line “Hide weather”.

After this, a minimalistic widget with a clock will appear on the screen, the appearance of which you can also change in accordance with your own preferences.

Sense Flip Clock & Weather

This clock widget displaying time and date is suitable for users who like Flip Clock style clocks with turning pages. Features of the utility:

  • selection of widgets of different sizes - 4x1, 4x2 and 5x2;
  • Flipping animation implemented;
  • selection of different skins and icon display;
  • the location is determined automatically, which allows the user to be informed of the most accurate forecast.

The weather display here can also be turned off if necessary, after which only a beautiful retro clock will appear on the screen. You can also test other similar utilities:

Clock on lock screen

If there is a need to change installed screen locking in such a way that a large dial is displayed on it, then in this case we can recommend the “Luminous Clock Chest of Drawers”. The utility with such a strange name is free, does not require configuration and does not display any advertising on the lock screen.

Many questions are asked regarding the nuances of its use and configuration. So, one of the basic tasks that can confuse a beginner is adding a clock to main screen smartphone or tablet. In our article today we will tell you how to do this.

Widgets are mini-applications that can be added to any of the home screens of an Android device. They come pre-installed, that is, integrated into the composition operating system initially, and developed by third-party developers and installed through the Google Play Store. Actually, the watches we are interested in are presented in sufficient quantities in both the first and second categories.

Method 1: Standard widgets

First of all, let's look at how to set a clock on the screen of an Android device, using the basic capabilities of the latter, that is, by selecting one of the widgets built into the mobile OS.

  1. Go to the screen where you want to add a clock and open the launcher menu. Most often this is done by long tapping (holding your finger) on an empty area. In the menu that appears, select "Widgets".

  2. Check out the list of available widgets (it includes both standard solutions and those created by third-party developers for their applications, if you already have them installed). Based on titles and previews, find in this list "Watch".

Note: In chapter "Watch" There can be just one mini-application, or several. It depends not only on the operating version Android systems, but also on what additional features endowed the product with its direct manufacturer. So, on the device we use as an example (pure Android 8.1 OS), two clock widgets are available.

  3. To move the selected widget to the main screen, depending on the shell you are using, select it with a long tap and place it in a free area, or simply click on it (in this case, adding will happen automatically).

Note: If you are using a launcher other than the default one, the first time you try to add a widget to your home screen, a small pop-up window will appear asking you to allow this procedure. Click in it "Allow" and, if you don’t want to deal with this issue anymore, first check the box next to the item "Don't ask again".

  4. After the widget is added to the home screen, you can adjust its size if necessary. To do this, select the clock with a long tap and pull the frame that appears in the desired direction.

Once you have determined the appropriate size, click on an empty area on the screen to exit editing mode.

  5. As you can see, there is nothing difficult about installing a clock on the screen of an Android device, especially if we are talking about a standard set of widgets. If for some reason none of them suits you, we recommend installing the application from third party developers, which we will talk about next.

Method 2: Widgets in the Play Store

The standard app store that comes pre-installed on most Android smartphones and tablets offers a fairly wide range of clock widgets that can be installed on the home screen. Particularly popular are mini-applications that, in addition to the time, also show the weather. We'll tell you how to install and use them, but first we recommend that you read our a brief overview several such solutions.

  1. Launch the Play Store and tap on the search bar located in the upper area of the window.
  2. Enter your request "clock widget" and select the first clue from the list or simply click on the search button.
  3. Check out the list of results presented. If necessary, you can go to the page of each of them to evaluate the design and capabilities. To do this, simply click on the application name.
  4. Once you have made your choice, click "Install". We'll use the mini-application as an example "Transparent Clocks and Weather", which has a fairly high rating among Android users.

  5. Wait for the installation to complete, then click "Open" on the app's store page, or launch it later from your device's screen or menu.
  6. If installed widget, like the one we chose, which also displays the weather, the first time you launch it, you will be asked for permission to grant it access to the location. In this window, click "Allow", at least if you want the weather for your region to be displayed correctly.

When the application is launched, familiarize yourself with its capabilities, available functions and settings, at least in order to understand what it is.

  7. To directly add a clock widget, you will need to return to the main page again. Android screen and open the launcher menu. As already mentioned, this is most often done by holding your finger on the screen and selecting the appropriate item from the list of available ones.
  8. As in the previous method, scroll through the list of mini-applications and find the item whose name matches the one you installed from the Market.

Quite often, solutions from third-party developers contain a very extensive selection of widgets. Therefore, we recommend that you look through each of them in order to ultimately choose the most suitable one.

  9. Having definitely decided which clock you want to see on the screen of your smartphone or tablet, install it by moving it or using a regular tap (again, depends on the OS version and the shell used). If necessary, allow the launcher you are using to create the widget.
  10. Rate appearance widget added, resize it if necessary. Please note that the ones we used as an example "Transparent Clocks and Weather" They also display the air temperature in the notification line, and there are many such applications.
  11. As you can see, there is nothing complicated in using third-party widgets to add a clock to the main Android screen. Moreover, unlike the meager set standard solutions, Play Store offers almost limitless possibilities for choice. You can freely try several applications at once, installing them on your device and evaluating them, and then keep only the ones you like and find most interesting.

Clock widget. Here you will find a variety of clock widgets for Android, with different designs and functionality. If you want a beautiful and comfortable clock for Android to update your phone's desktop background, this subsection of clock widgets will help you with this. Here you will find clock widgets for every, even the most picky taste, and what’s more, you can download the clock widget for free, without SMS activation and registration, all our files are scanned by antiviruses. Facebook apps then mentioned that it was updated immediately after Android updates on the phone. And, in addition to the problems with the social network, which are still not resolved, the large clock on the main screen of the smartphone has disappeared.

And so, a couple of days later, on the night of October 6, Android reported that it wanted to update again. At the same time, the release notes directly indicated that the changes apply only to watches.

I think this is such a joy! Has the clock been fixed? After all, now the screen looks something like this:

(there will be an unusually large number of photos, because I’m “testing” an application for screenshots, which has the function I need to immediately paint and color these screenshots a little...)

The update has finished.

But there is no clock... At the same time, some silver and gold “clocks” appeared in applications, which are very (even too) beautiful and very functional, but never moved to the main screen.

As always, the box opens simply: you don’t need to be a genius, but you need to think a little to understand that the clock widget on the main screen just turned off and there were no machinations of enemies who deleted your favorite watch.

Although, some things were removed after the previous Android update and appeared after today. In the Screen Saver screen settings, just yesterday there was no “Clock” item - only “Google Photos”, “Collage”, “Frame” and “Colors”. And now “Clock” has appeared, but there is practically no use from it - it’s just a screensaver when switching to standby mode.

How to return a large clock on the main screen of your smartphone

Everything is much simpler. Let's move on to all applications and everything else that is hidden in addition to the main screen - for me it is, for example, a round icon with six squares in the middle at the bottom.

At the top, select the tab not “Applications”, but “Widgets”.

Find the “Clock” widget.

Click on it, hold it and drag it to the main screen of the smartphone or wherever we need it.

All that remains is to enjoy the hours on the screen!

Today, to find out what time it is, people most often look at the phone screen, rather than at the dial of a real watch.

I went through many different beautiful Russian clock widgets for the Android desktop screen: weather and clocks, alarms, timers, digital, analog, Slavic and so on.

For Android, you can install simple screen additions, as well as advanced applications, thanks to which you will always be “on time”.

In the Play Market you can choose a wide variety of applications - from simple “timers” to advanced stylistic alarm clocks.

Only the choice should be based on your desires - if you are only interested in watches, then downloading applications of several megabytes does not make sense.

Below you will find my selection of the best clock widgets. I tested it on Android 4.4, Android 5.1 and Android 6.0.

The most popular clock widgets for Android

The Clocksync clock widget can synchronize with an atomic clock.

In the settings you can also enable automatic update time after a certain time interval.

"Retro Clock Widget" as the name suggests is an imitation antique watch. They really lack transitions between numbers, but they are beautiful and offer the ability to display time and date.

Interesting widgets for displaying the current time, which first of all look beautiful on the desktop screen - Digi, Simple Clock Widget and Minimalistic Text: Widgets.

The first "Digi" widget is simply digital clock- no more, no less.

The second “Simple Clock Widget” is a little unusual - the current time and date presents an interesting shape on a transparent background.

The latest “Minimalistic Text: Widgets” won the hearts of many users with its uniqueness - instead of numbers or a clock face, the current time and date are presented in text form.

You can set the direction of the font and text display - it has been installed by more than one million users.

What if none of the clock widgets meet your expectations? Maybe it's better to make your own widget?

If you study a little (the information is free on the Internet), you can create your own clock, weather widget, and even get information about the status of your phone’s battery.

All of this can be adjusted to "any angle" - font size, color, shades and transparency can be adjusted to your liking. At the same time, you will be sure that the size will fit beautifully on your desktop.

Of course, almost no one will create it on their own. Therefore, below I provide two of my favorite clock widgets - you can download them immediately on this page, of course for free.

Beautiful big clock widget for Android

Installing a beautiful clock widget is not difficult and free, but after experimenting, I chose Timely.

It is an alarm program, clock, stopwatch and timer in one. Moreover, it has a minimalist, simple and clear interface.

The application itself consists of three screens. The first one has alarms that you can easily manage and set for the appropriate days of the week. Of course, you can also choose a personal alarm melody.

On the second screen is a classic clock. Their appearance can be changed: style and background. The last screen provides access to the stopwatch and timer.

You can easily switch between these functions using vertical gestures. There is also wonderful animation built in.

Switching between timer and stopwatch looks amazing. As if that weren't enough, every change of numbers on the watch display looks crazy.

Never before has a watch app been so eye-catching. It may sound funny, but using a timer has never been more fun.

The applet can be downloaded for free from Google Play or here below. Only free version does not have all the personalization options.

If you want to unlock additional themes, additional alarm ringtones or disable ads you will have to pay.

There is another way to unlock the pro version - recommend the program to others so that they install it using a special link.

This way you will unlock all the features of the professional version. This is a very smart move. People who don't use pirated software, but don’t want to spend money, they can use this option.

Best digital clock widget Chronus

Another, available to all Android owners (or at least versions 4.1 and later) Chronus.

At first glance, Chronus is just another standard clock widget. In fact, the application can do much more, and this is one of the most attractive elements.

Not only is the program a highly customizable widget, but it also provides weather information and can display calendar event information.

Thus, you get three functions, and at the same time it looks beautiful and has extensive settings.

The user has the choice of two types of clocks - digital and analog. Visually, they largely resemble native widgets for Android.

The digital version can decide whether you want to condense hours or minutes, and also determine their color. You can also display information about scheduled signals (and, of course, customize it).

The weather forecast function is based on the Yahoo service. You will have options such as update interval, selection of units and locations, as well as two charts - color or monochrome.

Nothing stands in your way and change the font color used to inform you about the current weather.

Information about upcoming events in the calendar is also customizable. Here you can select the categories from which data should be collected and determine which items will be displayed.

In addition, the application can highlight upcoming events as you approach a deadline. Just as in the two previous cases, you can specify the font color.

The widget works very well. Its appearance may not be particularly original, but it fits well into the Android interface.

If you're looking for a solution that can replace the other three widgets while still allowing you to create an advanced configuration, then Chronus is definitely worth a look.

It is encouraging that the application will be constantly developed and thus will not lose its functionality. Good luck.
