The volume level is very high, the bass is good, there are no substrates, everything is clean and tidy, pleasant to listen to. However, in normal stores you can try Touch yourself with your own headphones - if you replace the EarPods with something larger like the Aiaiai TMA-1, then in this case the sound in no way disappoints. On the contrary, it is surprising. I used to say that everything is good in Apple devices, but the Walkman has better sound, I won’t say that now. Quite the contrary.
