Doctor Web: Virus removal by ambulance! We check the effectiveness of the antivirus and quickly remove viruses using the free utility Dr.Web CureIt Doctor Web found a threat but does not remove it.

Hello. Now I will write a very interesting and useful article about the utility CureIt by Dr.Web. I will write about how you can use it to check the reliability of your antivirus and how you can quickly remove a virus, Trojan and other malicious software. Let’s first tell you a little about Dr.Web CureIt, and then I’ll write what you can do with this utility, in what cases you need to use it, how to download and use the Dr.Web CureIt utility.

Dr.Web CureIt is a free utility (for treatment only home computer), from the famous antivirus company Dr.Web. The trick is that Dr.Web CureIt does not need to be installed on your computer and you do not need to remove the already installed antivirus. Just download Dr.Web CureIt, launch it, select the scanning mode and wait for the utility to scan our computer and remove the threats found.

Why use Dr.Web CureIt?

If you already have an antivirus installed, for example, I have ESET NOD32 installed, then using the CureIt utility you can check the reliability and effectiveness of already installed antivirus. How? Yes, just scan your computer with using CureIt. And if it detects many viruses with which your antivirus has lived in harmony for a long time, then you should think about changing your antivirus, for example to the same Dr.Web.

As I already wrote, I have NOD32 installed, so when scanning with Dr.Web CureIt, it found and cured only one Trojan. Whatever antivirus you have, well, except for Dr.Web :) I advise you to perform such a check and understand how effectively your antivirus works.

It often happens that strange and different problems appear on your computer. Typically, viruses and other malware are to blame. Sometimes it’s clear that the virus is to blame for everything, and sometimes you can’t tell what the problem is. In any case, I always advise scanning your computer with an updated antivirus antivirus databases, or AVZ utility which I wrote about in the article.

So, the Dr.Web CureIt utility is another tool that needs to be used to check your computer in such situations.

How to check your computer using Dr.Web CureIt?

Enough with the theory, let's move on to the technical part. First, we need to download the utility. To do this, go to the website, scroll the page and click on the button "Download for free".

Scroll the page and press the button.

Put a tick next to “I accept the terms of the License Agreement.” and click “Continue”.

A message will appear in which you need to click “Save” and save the file, for example, to your desktop. The file size is almost 106 MB.

When the file cureit.exe fully boot onto the computer, launch it by double-clicking on it with the left mouse button.

A window will open with a message that Dr.Web CureIt is running in enhanced protection mode. Click “Ok”. In enhanced scanning mode, the computer will be blocked, but there is also a greater chance of finding a virus.

You can check the box and agree to participate in the improvement program antivirus programs and click “Continue”.

If necessary, you can select objects to scan and click on the big button to start scanning “Start checking”.

Now you need to wait until the check is completed. After scanning, the utility will display a list of threats found, opposite which you can choose what to do with them; I recommend choosing “Cure”. And press the “Disarm” button.

After cleaning the system, reboot, and the file that we downloaded can be deleted.

Now you know another one good way, which can quickly remove the virus. This utility definitely deserves attention and thanks to Dr.Web for the opportunity to scan and clean your computer from viruses for free. Everything is organized so simply that anyone can perform such a check, you don’t have to be a specialist.

Check your computers, check the effectiveness of the antiviruses that you have installed. Good luck!

We check the effectiveness of the antivirus and quickly remove viruses using the free Dr.Web CureIt utility updated: May 17, 2014 by: admin

Today I would like to tell you about a free utility from Doctor Web for removing viruses. It would seem that if , then there seems to be no need to worry. But as practice shows, a utility from Doctor Web called CureIt can find viruses, which were not noticed by the main antivirus program.

She has helped me out more than once! I will scan my computer in front of you, and you will make sure that the CureIt utility can find viruses that for some reason my antivirus does not see!

Let's remember What is Doctor Web (Dr.Web)? And Doctor Web is a full-fledged antivirus that is designed to be installed on a computer. But not everyone has it installed. After all, someone uses Avast, Kaspersky, or some other antivirus.

The CureIt utility is intended for such users. If you already have an antivirus, then naturally you cannot install another one at the same time. Otherwise, they will simply start “fighting”. And CureIt does not require installation and will not affect the operation of the computer in any way, and most importantly, it works immediately after downloading.

Let's now look at how Doctor Web scans and removes viruses. Here is the official website where you can download latest version CureIt programs http://www.freedrweb.com/cureit.

We agree to the anonymous sending of statistics by clicking the " Download Dr.Web CureIT! with statistics sending function"(this is the only way we can get the program for free).

We accept the terms of the agreement and click “Continue”.

After downloading the utility, we need to run it and accept the agreements again.

And now we can scan our computer for malware, and, if necessary, cure them or remove them. All you have to do is click the “Start scan” button.

The scan took 6 minutes. And 2 threats were found, which were immediately proposed to be “Defused”. I will do so.

As you can see, utility from Doctor Web for removing viruses found malicious objects on me, but for some reason was not “indignant”. Therefore, if you see that your computer has begun to work a little unstably, something has begun to slow down somewhere, and so on, then perhaps this is the work of viruses?

Try scanning your PC with an antivirus, but also don’t forget about the free CureIt utility from Doctor Web designed to remove viruses and other infected objects. This program can help you and your computer in difficult times.

Hi all! We have more than once raised the question of viruses and the fight against them, so in this article I want to talk about another utility that can find and remove malicious files in system.

Since I recently reinstalled the system, unfortunately I didn't bother to install any effective antivirus, because of which, in a short time, my computer was attacked by many viruses. Fortunately, they turned out to be not too dangerous. How did I understand that I have viruses on my computer? Obvious signs may be slow operation of the system - applications take a long time to open, the processor may be 100% loaded for some unknown reason, this also applies to the hard drive. In order not to bother, I remembered the free Dr.Web CureIt utility, which you don’t even need to install on your computer. I downloaded it, launched it, checked my computer for viruses. There were a couple of strange viruses that I removed, rebooted the computer, after which everything began to work normally.

Working with Dr Web Cureit

Now I will show you how to quickly get rid of viruses from your system using Dr.Web CureIt. First, you need to download the program from the official website and then run it.

When you start the program, you need to check the box about taking part in improving the product, this way statistics will be collected and sent to the company, but there’s nothing wrong with that, click "Continue".

Our next window has several buttons. You can either start checking immediately or click on “Select objects to scan”.

At this point we can choose what we will check, I think you’ll figure it out.

There are two icons at the top right. One is responsible for the utility language, the other for settings. Let's select the settings.

A context window will appear with three options:

  • Automatically apply action to threats
  • Turning off the computer after checking
  • Sound accompaniment of events

Everything is clear here too, but now let’s press another button "Settings" in this context menu.

Here, as you can see, there are a little more possibilities here. In the tab "Basic" There are points that are already familiar to us, so we won’t consider anything here. In the tab "Actions" possible for suspicious programs and dangerous files set the action - delete, quarantine or ignore. Just below there are two points: suggest a reboot and restart the computer automatically. A reboot is required for some types of viruses that will not survive without a reboot.

In the next tab "Exceptions" you can add files or folders that you don't want to scan.

IN last tab "Report" we will see the scanning results and the program's actions. You can set the level of detail.

After you have configured everything, and there is nothing special to configure, you can start scanning the system for viruses.

During the check, you should wait quite a long time, so you should be patient and drink a cup of coffee. Once the scan is completed, the results will appear. If there are viruses, you can remove, disinfect, or ignore them.

That's all. The downside of the utility is that there is no constant protection of the computer in real time. It’s better to install some kind of antivirus so that there are no problems later, I did that too, so I don’t worry.

In the next article I will talk about similar programs from the company and, stay tuned for site updates.

Virus treatment Doctor Web

If list of detected threats(viruses, etc.) contains more than one object, you can apply one of the actions at once to the entire list or its individual elements. To select the entire list, click right click mouse over one of the elements, select from context menu"Select all" option. You can also use the “Insert” key to select an object and move the cursor to the next position, the “Ctrl+A” key combination to select all elements, and the * key to numeric keypad– to cancel the selection.

Selected list objects are marked with a green circle to the left of their names.

In addition to selecting actions from the context menu of list items, you can also use the buttons located directly below the list: “Select All”, “Cure”, “Rename”, “Move” and “Delete”.

In Dr.Web, the “Rename” option renames the file extension, replacing the first character of the extension with the # sign. The “Move” option is intended to move suspicious or virus-infected objects to the directory specified in the antivirus settings. By default this is the subdirectory " infected.!!!", located in the main installation directory of the program. After moving potentially dangerous objects They can be quarantined and sent for analysis to the laboratory of Doctor Web LLC. This is done through a special form on the developer’s website https://vms.drweb.com/sendvirus.

It should be noted that disinfection is not possible for suspicious objects, and for objects that are not files, for example, boot sectors, moving, renaming or deleting operations are not possible. Also, no actions are possible for separate files inside archives, containers or as part of letters, in such cases the selected action is applied to the entire object.
