Is there boxing on xbox 360? Which Xbox should I choose? Xbox Evolution History

Microsoft has released a new version of the Xbox One firmware, and also opened access to the backward compatibility function with games from the Xbox 360 for all owners of the eighth generation console. As part of our material, we invite you to familiarize yourself with the answers to common questions about the operation of the backward compatibility function for games from the Xbox 360 on Xbox One.

How does the backwards compatibility feature work?
As part of the E3 2015 exhibition, Microsoft announced that in November it will be possible to run games from the Xbox 360 on the Xbox One game console. As it turned out later, Microsoft programmers implemented the backward compatibility feature using an emulator. That is, a virtual machine running the Xbox 360 operating system is launched on the Xbox One console, and then the game runs on it. Despite this, all features of the Xbox One will continue to work - the ability to take screenshots, record the last few seconds of gameplay, launch game hubs.

How much does it cost to run the backwards compatibility feature?
Unlike the Playstation Now service, which is similar in functionality, which allows you to run “old” games on Playstation consoles via the cloud, the backwards compatibility feature is free. The only thing Xbox One owners have to pay for is the games themselves.

How do I play a game from Xbox 360 on Xbox One?
There are two cases. In the first, you own the Xbox 360 version of the game on disk - with this option, just insert it into the drive, and then the digital version of the project for Xbox One will begin downloading from the store in the emulator. In the second option, players already own the digital game (purchased from the Xbox Marketplace for Xbox 360) and simply download it to the Xbox One from My Games & Apps.

Do all Xbox 360 games run backwards compatible on Xbox One?
No, there are 104 games available at launch. We have one on our website, which will be updated.

Why didn't Microsoft make my favorite game **** backwards compatible?
Microsoft is doing everything possible to transfer the entire library of games from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One, but it is worth understanding that the rights to the projects belong to the publishers, and the game cannot appear in the backwards compatibility program without their consent.

I'm in the Xbox One digital store, but I don't see any Xbox 360 games, how can I buy them?
You can buy the game on disk or digitally. If you decide to buy an Xbox 360 game digitally, you can do this through the Xbox.com website or through the Xbox 360 console. You cannot currently buy Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One console.

I have a lot of DLC for my Xbox 360 game, will they be available via backwards compatibility?
Yes, all DLC is included in the backwards compatibility program.

If I played the game on Xbox 360, can I continue playing on Xbox One by loading the save?
If your saves were in the cloud, then this option is provided.

Rapid obsolescence of technology is a problem in modern electronics. Literally a few months pass from the moment a smartphone/tablet or laptop appears on store shelves, the device becomes obsolete, and manufacturers begin to prepare new models to replace it. Game consoles are also becoming obsolete, but much more slowly, because releasing them annually, or once every couple of years, is unreasonable for both manufacturers and users. Let's think about how soon it will be discontinued Xbox One, and when will Microsoft completely stop supporting it?

In 2001, Microsoft introduced the original Xbox, which ceased production in 2005 (due to the fact that NVIDIA stopped producing the graphics chips that were used in the console). Fully Xbox support ceased in 2008, when the console was disconnected from the Xbox Live service.

In 2005, Microsoft introduced Xbox 360. The console continues to be produced to this day, although it is now difficult to find it in its original version. Over the course of 8 years, the console was seriously changed; several modifications were released, one of which was presented along with Xbox One in 2013, called Xbox 360S. Microsoft representatives did not provide an exact date when support for the console will end. However, according to various rumors, Xbox 360 in 2015 they will cease to be released in any of the modifications, and in 2018 they will be completely disconnected from Xbox Live services.

However, it is obvious that already in 2015, fewer and fewer games will appear on Xbox 360. Game developers lack the power of seventh-generation consoles to handle everything they want to demonstrate to users in their projects. The question is how much console performance reserve will be enough? Xbox One? To be honest, the console is not equipped with the best hardware that is available even now, and in 2-3 years it will be completely outdated.

Naturally, Microsoft will not give up support for its game console so quickly, but we can expect that we will see the next generation of consoles sooner than in 8 years, as happened with Xbox 360. Most likely, Microsoft will repeat the five-year cycle that has passed since its launch Xbox before Xbox 360. Thus, already in 2018 we can see a new console from Microsoft, if the company wants to create a home console.

P.S. Naturally all dates are relative Xbox One– this is pure speculation by the authors; no information from Microsoft regarding when support for the game console, which has just gone on sale, will end in the near future.

Perhaps I was a little late with this topic and should have written about it immediately after the announcement, but all these conferences and lack of sleep...
Everyone already knows that at E3 2017 Microsoft finally presented its new product from the Xbox line.
As expected, it did not represent a new-generation console, but, like the PS4 PRO, it became an improved version of the old one. Long before the announcement, rumors appeared on the Internet that the new Xbox would become the most powerful console on the market and would outshine its Japanese competitor. As for the latter, I’m not sure, but here’s the thing, and in power this “monster” has no equal among consoles, in addition, the small soft ones did a massive job on the design, turning it into a massive ugly “box” that an ignorant person could easily confuse with a VCR, in a compact, nice “box”. I don’t think it’s necessary to introduce you to those again. characteristics, because everyone who wanted it has already looked at it a long time ago, I’ll just say that the new Xbox is really a new console, and not an overclocked “fat” like Sony’s. It is equipped with powerful hardware capable of delivering real 4K without dropping FPS below 60, while its competitor, let me remind you, even with upscale from 2K is not capable of delivering more than 30 frames per second. That’s all, of course. can't be that rosy, Microsoft didn't tell us anything about the graphics, and this is important, especially for such a console. I have unfounded suspicions that the wonderful 4K + 60FPS indicators will be achieved by degrading the graphics. In other words, games with such indicators Xbox One X will run with graphics comparable to medium and medium-low settings on a PC, and our favorite console “soap” will not go anywhere, so anti-aliasing, which “blurs” the “ladders”, puts the least load on the hardware, and for maintaining a stable 60 FPS at such a high resolution requires a lot of power, in order to make sure of this, remember how much it costs to build a PC for Ultra HD gaming... Computers for 1.5 - 2 thousand dollars with several video cards and the latest generation components cannot always cope with such a load at maximum settings, what do you expect from a $500 console? Even if the new Xbox doesn’t lose much in graphics, then there’s certainly no escape from the “soap” now, or it will be the same as with the PS4 PRO, we will be given the opportunity to choose: bad graphics and 60 PS or good graphics and 30 FPS.
But this is not the only problem. All this progression is definitely a plus, but what to do with it? How can the owner of the most powerful console in history feel this very power? The fact is that at the Microsoft conference they showed what you can play, but they didn’t show you what to play. During the entire presentation, we only saw advanced graphics in FIFA 18, but are people buying such consoles because of FIFA? No, of course, people want new games, but there aren’t any, even the biggest announcements from this presentation, such as the Metro sequel and the Life is Strange prequel, are multi-platform and will also appear on PS4. So it turns out that of the Microsoft exclusives, only Forza remains, and a bunch of indies along with ports of Free to Play - projects from PC.
In general, this platform, in my opinion, is more for the American market and will not catch on here, just as the regular Xbox One did not catch on, and there are reasons for that, so when buying this console, be prepared to play with a HUGE ping. As a result, we have a platform without games, but with powerful stuffing inside. This gives the ideal console for multi-platform lovers. For a relatively low price, we get a powerful console. You, of course, can build a PC for the same price and play the latest games on it, but the 2017 Xbox One will be much faster, more convenient and, if my fears are not confirmed, will show you an excellent picture in Ulta HD and 60 FPS .

The first Xbox was released back in 2001, and then many turned down the road they continue to follow to this day. There are many fans of this console in the world, but even they could not hold back a sigh of disappointment after watching it. I understand that everyone wants to make money. Normal desire. And Microsoft is striving for this so much that it’s even disgusting. And here are 15 reasons to hate the new Xbox.

1. Design

Xbox One is the new crap. So why was it made to look like a VCR from the nineties? For what? In the name of what? He's boring, he's unattractive, he's ugly. If Microsoft wanted to succeed, they had to start at the beginning - with design.

2. Component cables

Yeah, dude, the Microsoft guys didn't think that you buy a TV less than once a year. Not everyone has 3D HDTV. Of course, if you have one of the latest gaming consoles, then you also have an HDMI cable. In fact, you could also think about component cables, wouldn’t you? A simple, classic thing. But now you have no choice. If you want an Xbox One, buy a new TV. Still want it?

3. Kinect is required

You have no choice - you can't do without it. Sorry if you're playing in a small room. What for? You need a big room to play - and let everyone watch. Even if they are not very interested.

4. You can't switch games

If you have a lot of games and want to trade with friends, you can do it, but they will have to pay. What a twist! If you bought a game and wanted to play it on another console, you can, but you'll have to pay - almost as much as for the game itself. Well done, good luck in life.

5. It will not play games for the previous Xbox 360

You weren't hoping for that, were you? We have nothing to please you with, dude, we ourselves are very sorry. They won't go. You'll have to buy everything again. Greedy, greedy Microsoft types!

6. Independent game developers

They are no longer allowed to publish games, unlike the situation with the PS3 or Nintendo Wii. Yes, and even for PS4 it is possible. If Microsoft wants to do away with gaming consoles, they've laid a solid foundation. Independent developers are real gamers. They are the soul of computer games, without them we would still be playing Nintendo 64.

7. You can connect to television - but it’s too bad

Yes, you can watch TV through Xbox. It’s a thrill to watch TV on half the screen and play on the other half of the screen, but there’s something missing here. If you don't have a video recorder, the trick won't work. Who even has a DVR at home? I have no. What for? I'm not in an apartment on the Cote d'Azur. And it’s unlikely there either.

You assholes! So we saved the world, and you gave us this in return? Will the new Halo be released only for the new Xbox? Were you completely stunned there? Listen, dude, they were amazing there!

9. Fantasia: Music Evolved

Disney, of course, will be worse than Halo, but Fantasia: Music Evolved is also a highly anticipated game. And, as you already guessed, it will also be released only for the new Xbox One. What an asshole Gates is.

10. Old games

It happens: I bought it, played enough - and what to do? A good option is to push an old game on the cheap. Or you could buy games at a thrift store. So what did our friends from Microsoft come up with? Here's what. If you buy the game in person, you will have to pay to play it on your Xbox. Just shills.

11. Price

500 bucks is a normal price for a game console in 2013. But before that the regular price was 400 bucks - which means that they just threw in another 3,000 rubles. PS4 will be cheaper and more games will be released on it - there’s probably no point in trying to convince you which is better?

12. The headset will not work

If you're happy with your old Xbox headset and were thinking of using it with the new one, you better sell it before it's completely worthless, because it won't fit. Microsoft decided to change the port. And again, extra money.

13. Kinect will always be on

It's just creepy. Sure, it's nice that you can turn on your Xbox using a voice command, but what else am I saying that I want someone to hear? What if someone is listening to my Kinect? This is paranoia, no?

14. Internet required

Not around the clock - but only once a day. Just like the old nanny, Microsoft will test you. Are they serious? And all this in the wake of talk that even Skype is being tapped? Hmm, our console must always be connected to the Internet, and also the Kinect is always on. Wow. Just wow.

15. Microsoft doesn't change

Microsoft have proven that despite all the changes in this world, they remain the same. Exactly the same. They try to benefit from everything, and primarily from gamers. I think in November many of us will turn to the dark side of the force.

What if your laptop and tablet refuse to work? And in this case, I will be forced to urgently look for an alternative, for example, in the form of an Xbox One console. After all, there is Windows with an x86 processor. Curiosity got the better of me and I decided to check it out.

Xbox One - Reviews

Xbox One is, first and foremost, a gaming console. However, it also has a lot in common with PC. One of the operating systems of this console is a modified Windows 8, and the base is an x86 processor. Does this mean that the Xbox One can completely replace my laptop? Of course not. But frankly, I was surprised at what the console allowed me to do.

The first requirement with which I decided whether it was possible to start the experiment at all was support for USB keyboard and mouse. Whether you're writing, entering, or grouping data in Excel, or whatever, the on-screen keyboard on this type of device is not suitable for anything work-related. You can, however, use SmartGlass for this, as well as an application on Windows, Windows Phone, Android or iOS, which provides, in particular, a touch screen keyboard on the screen of the device on which it is installed. I, however, decided that in order for this experiment to make sense, we cannot have any other hardware other than Xboksem, since both Android and SmartGlassem can run equally well on this device.

Keyboard and mouse with Microsoft Xbox One

The experiment was practically suspended. When I connected the keyboard and mouse, nothing happened in the console. The console did not respond to new devices and did not allow me to write anything. Even rebooting it didn't help. I was surprised, because I read somewhere that the console copes with this without problems. Eventually I found out what the problem was. So, I configured everything on a working device, instead of completely turning it off. The console needs to be turned off completely, connect the peripherals and only then start again. Only then does it detect the connected devices. Hot-plugging unfortunately does not work. So does the mouse. I tried three models, none of them worked. Because of this, I didn’t have the slightest problem with the keyboard. Although it only works in text fields and therefore cannot be used for navigation. Armed with a keyboard and a gamepad that can be used instead of a mouse, I got to work.

Unfortunately, all this cannot be called either convenient or effective. The mouse can be placed next to the keyboard and can be easily reached with your hand, but it takes time to get used to it.

Job? Only “figuratively”

Built into the Xbox One, Windows doesn't allow you to install Windows 8 apps, much less desktop apps. This means that you can only work in the browser. Moreover, you do not have the ability to upload and download files. This also means that if you work on certain types of files, you can only edit them. I tested how it works in Exchange Web Access, Gmail, Outlook, Google Drive and SkyDrive (with Google Docs and Office Web Apps built into them). As it turned out, none of these applications caused any problems. I also did not have any difficulties with web services and graphics processing tools. Not bad!

Internet Explorer handles all applications well

Unfortunately, problems still appeared. Unfortunately, any mechanisms for web applications based on Flash and Java do not work. While everything is based on HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, Xbox One allows normal operation. However, if there is any plugin that needs to be installed... I'm really sorry. The console does not have this capability.

There is one more, very annoying problem. Basic keyboard shortcuts do not work on the console. They don't function, so CTRL+C, CTRL+X, CTRL+C or CTRL+V. It is also interesting that the first of the listed combinations has its own “deputy”. Click on the “Esc” button. It is possible that the rest of the buttons have replacements, but I did not find them. Only CTRL+A works without problems. Copying also works, but only for what is written down... in the browser's address bar. Strange.

The Xbox One's limited multitasking also makes work difficult. Well, if it occurs to you to shrink your browser and open Skype, then after you restore it to the Internet Explorer screen, all the words entered in the forms disappear. Therefore, it is necessary to save your work frequently. Just in case. Application fonts that require a constant connection to the server also become blurry. This means that, for example, Facebook chat, and even more so corporate instant messaging, collapses when the browser is minimized.

Conclusion

The Xbox One, after several hours of testing in various applications, proved that working on it is a sad matter. This console certainly won't replace the PC. Each web application must be opened in a separate tab, and switching between them is not very convenient. The lack of mouse support in Internet Explorer also makes itself felt, and for many people the lack of support for Java and Flash plugins defeats the whole purpose of the work.

But I was amazed at how much I was able to accomplish with One. Webmailer, web-office packages, web-graphics editors, everything works without pretension. Therefore, if your computer breaks down and you have an Xbox One in your house, you can continue to work, but know that this work will not go quickly. And in fact, all this is not such hard labor as it seemed to me at first. Honestly, if there were mouse support in the browser, it would be quite bearable. But for now, Xbox should only be considered as an emergency solution.
