Gyproc is rightfully considered the No. 1 manufacturer of lightweight plasterboard systems in the world. Since 1917, the company has been producing a wide range of gypsum-based products, regularly improving the technologies used. Today, Gyproc plasterboard is one of the most popular materials for interior decoration of residential and office premises. Our catalog presents various types of gypsum boards of this brand.

Main advantages and characteristics of Gyproc plasterboard

For the production of plasterboard sheets, about 93% natural gypsum, up to 6% thick cardboard and about 1% binders are used. A carefully selected ratio of components determines the highest strength of Gyproc plasterboard. The products of this brand are universal: they can be used for arranging non-load-bearing partitions, for finishing and leveling walls, ceilings and even floors (depending on the thickness of the drywall).

Main characteristics of Gyproc plasterboard sheets:

  • length - from 2.5 to 3 m;
  • width - from 600 to 1200 mm;
  • thickness - from 6.5 to 12.5 mm;
  • bending strength - about 322 N (in longitudinal section);
  • weight - from 6.5 to 9 kg/sq. m (for ceiling gypsum boards) or from 8.5 to 12 kg/sq. m (for wall-mounted plasterboards).

The company's range of plasterboard materials includes fire-resistant, moisture-resistant, as well as ceiling, arch and wall sheets.

Installation of Gyproc brand drywall

Gyproc plasterboard sheets are quite simple and easy to install, due to the low weight of the sheets. Their installation is practically no different from the installation of analogues from other companies, for example, Knauf. However, for reliable and durable installation of sheets, it is recommended to use a special Gyproc profile. It is made of galvanized steel using patented UltraSteel technology. During the production process, the profile undergoes mechanical hardening, and its surface becomes corrugated. That is why its strength increases many times over. This profile provides a more durable fixation of gypsum boards using self-tapping screws; the corrugated surface creates the effect of a harpoon.

How to make a partition from Gyproc plasterboard

Installation of GKL Gyproc occurs according to the standard scheme:

  • surface preparation;
  • determining the lowest angles and marking them with lines;
  • installation of guide profiles around the perimeter;
  • surface marking for further installation of rack or ceiling profiles;
  • installation of profiles, strengthening the structure using direct hangers;
  • cutting gypsum boards and covering the frame.

Gyproc brand plasterboard is your right choice in favor of safety, durability, reliability and protection of premises from noise.

It must be said right away that this is one of the most expensive types of drywall presented in domestic stores. Its cost depends little on the prices of competitors, because it is the only industrial representative (meaning the production of drywall) that is not shy about experimenting and introducing new technological solutions.

Dimensions and designations

The company produces gypsum plasterboard (Fig. 1) in the same range as Knauf (traditional, fire-resistant, water-resistant and combined). But to improve some designs, the manufacturer offers patented and proven drywall with a set of other properties:

  • GN-13 (standard with sheet dimensions 1200x2400-3600 and 13 mm thickness;
  • GEK-13 (plasterboard with increased strength characteristics with the same sheet size; its weight is 2-2.5 kg/m2 heavier);
  • GTS-9 (windproof model with a sheet of 2700-3000x1200x9 mm) with a lightweight design (average weight about 7 kg/m2.

The underdeveloped standard-size (Fig. 2) branch in the production of plasterboard is associated with the action of the same state standard, which does not give impetus to development. IN in this case The Giprok company has followed the path of European development and makes products focused on international standards quality (ISO) DIN 18180-1989 and DIN EN 520:2005-03.

It cannot be said that the use of only the domestic standardization system for plasterboard GOST 6266-96 makes it of poor quality or interferes with its development, but in some cases obstacles still exist.

Features of Giprok plasterboard in comparison with other manufacturers

The company itself and all its official dealers, for example the StroyLider store, are focused not only on selling gyproc gypsum boards, but to a greater extent on providing materials for large construction projects. It is quite natural that when choosing a particular supplier, many factors are taken into account, but the size of the material sometimes plays a major role - no one wants to overpay for trim or chop small pieces into a huge area.

It is precisely the ability to vary the length of the sheet from 2.4 to 3.6 meters in increments of 50 mm that sets Giprok apart from its competitors. Moreover, when completing an order, you can agree on the supply of sheets of different sizes to increase the efficiency of using material and components.

On appearance The gyproc sheet is no different, but if you approach the issue from a slightly different angle, then everything looks different.

  1. Giprok products have markings for self-tapping screws (in increments of 600 mm for standard ceiling and wall systems) (Fig. 3) on one side. That is, it turns out that this brand of drywall is strictly directional. For ease of work, markings are provided around the perimeter (this was done specifically for more convenient and accurate hemming of drywall edges and increasing the tightness of the individual sheets at the joints).
  2. The company produces gypsum plasterboard sheets using a different technology, which uses not G4 brand gypsum, but its foamed analogue. Structurally, nothing has changed, but there was a gain in weight (-3 kg per sheet), absorbent properties appeared (very important point when puttying and sealing seams, the material does not absorb moisture, but creates normal adhesion).
  3. The external finish is distinguished by a change in the color of the cardboard at the ends (from gray to white). This is due to the ease of edge processing (cutting) for subsequent joining operations.

Development of unusual types of plasterboard sheets "Giprok"

Among the new products presented by the company, two types of unique quality and properties deserve attention:

  • soundproofing plasterboard sheet (its geometry is standard, but the weight has increased by 8-10 kg and amounted to about 35 kg per sheet) is available in purple. Its too dense structure extinguishes well extraneous noise, but during installation you may encounter a number of difficulties - the need to perform metal frame exclusively from reinforced profiles, ordinary self-tapping screws penetrate the gypsum layer very poorly, often turning off the thread, so you will first have to make markings and drill. In the classification of plasterboard, this product is called acoustic plasterboard sheet;
  • Glasroc gypsum board is a new material based on gypsum and fiberglass (instead of traditional cardboard). The standard dimensions of the sheet in combination with 6 mm thickness allow it to have the main quality - bending to give various shapes to the ceiling and walls. The price for such gypsum board is, of course, noticeably higher, but its strength characteristics fully justify it.

Uniqueness of products

For any manufacturer, such a concept is desirable, but it is never an end in itself. Approximately the same situation is observed with Gyproc, but recently, to expand the possibilities of application, all Gyproc plasterboard products began to be marked not only by the properties of the sheets, but also have separate stamps of “green” organizations, which indicate an environmentally friendly material.

This in itself is not a discovery, but if they are available, it becomes possible to use such drywall in kindergartens, hospitals, schools and institutions of out-of-school (additional) education for children. On the other hand, this is an excellent marketing ploy aimed at increasing trust on the part of ordinary people.

According to the conclusion of StroyLider specialists, Giprok products are largely distinguished by precision production, which, combined with excellent quality, results in a very durable and durable product. highest degree suitable material for walls and ceilings (Fig. 4).
