First, let's turn to the method of installing a vehicle in GTA 5 through replacement, since it is much more reliable than its automatic version. To start installing the desired vehicles, you need to go to the official website of the OpenIV utility and download its latest version from there.
As soon as you download the installer to your computer, run the file ovisetup.exe and install the OpenIV utility in the specified directory (it cannot be changed). This is where the most difficult stage begins. Having previously downloaded the car you need from a third-party resource, you have probably already read on the mod’s page that its use is carried out by the principle of replacing the files of the original vehicle with those of the modified one.
To best explain the process of replacing one vehicle with another, let us look at one small example. The process will be explained using the example of the Bugatti Veyron mod, with which you can add the car of the same name to the GTA 5 game world. Download the archive with this mod, and then extract the files from it to any directory convenient for you on your computer, for example, to your Desktop. So, to add a Bugatti Veyron replacement in GTA 5, you will need to do the following:
- open the installed OpenIV program;
- indicate which game you want to interact with and set the path to the game’s executive file - GTA5.exe;
- Next, you need to activate the Editing mode in the utility - click the corresponding button in the window menu bar;
- go to the directory GTAV\mods\x64e.rpf\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf
- highlight extracted files Adder.yft, Adder_hi.yft, Adder.ytd(they are located in the Replace folder of the downloaded mod) and drag them into the OpenIV program window;

- Find in the instructions for the transport mod the directory in which you will need to make the replacement, and remember it.

We will again consider the process of installing an addon in the form of transport using the example of the Bugatti Veyron modification, which we used in the paragraph about the replacement method. - drag the folder "BUGATTI" into the directory mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\;

How to add new cars to GTA 5
