How to find purchased ringtones in iTunes. How to Restore Purchased Sounds in iTunes

Hello! Quite recently, we set our own ringtone on the iPhone and, despite all the difficulties, we still managed to do it. But a person’s tastes are constantly changing - for example, I’m already tired of the song that I recently set to ringtone. I want, you know, something new!

Well, creating something new is not a problem (), but what to do with an old ringtone that is no longer needed? There are not many options - leave or delete. If left, it will take up precious internal memory. Therefore, we will delete it. And here again, with Apple, everything is not as it should be with people.

Why? Because it's not serious at all...

You can't just delete a ringtone from your iPhone. Well, there is no such option in the iPhone settings!

What then? Now I’ll tell you and show you everything. Go!

We will only consider official way(no jailbreaks or other nonsense). After all, jailbreak is practically “dead”, but this method removing ringtones will live forever :)

As usual, in order for the information to be as truthful and verified as possible personal experience, I will do all the manipulations with you.

So, I have two “extra” ringtones on my iPhone:

  1. Made and uploaded yourself via iTunes.
  2. Purchased from the official store iTunes Store. The price, by the way, is 22 rubles! But for Kipelov, even “fifty dollars” is not a pity :)

Task: remove these ringtones.

Now let's go for sure!

Step 1 (connect iPhone to iTunes). There should be no problems here - we take the cable (preferably the original one), connect the iPhone to the computer and launch iTunes.

Step 2 (very important point!). After launching iTunes, click on the phone image in the upper left corner.

And then, at the very bottom, check the box next to “Process music and videos manually” and click “Apply”.

Step 3 (open sound controls). We don’t go anywhere and look at the left side menu - we are interested in the “Sounds” line. Select it - a list of all ringtones that have been downloaded to your iPhone appears on the right.

Step 4 (removing ringtones). Click on any of these ringtones right click mouse, select “Remove from library” and click “Synchronize”.

All! We take the iPhone in our hands, open “Settings - Sounds, tactile signals - Ringtone” and see that this sound is no longer there. Hooray! Although...

Some problems can always arise - where would we be without them? :) And here’s what you can do if the instructions described above do not help:

  • Try installing a different build of iTunes. The fact is that latest versions programs (12.7 and older) are “stripped down” - Apple has removed many functions from them. Therefore, with its help we try to remove the ringtone.
  • Try to erase the sound using the same program through which it was originally downloaded to the iPhone. Because if the ringtone was set using third party program(for example, iFunBox), then iTunes may not be able to remove such ringtones.

Still nothing works? Well, you can always ask a question in the comments (preferably, describing your situation in more or less detail) - let’s try to figure out the problem together!

You can download ringtones for iPhone from the official iTunes Store. Along with movies and music, there is a “Sounds” section. You can set a ringtone on your smartphone with a few movements of your fingers, without “dancing with a tambourine” and connecting to a computer, although you will have to pay for it.

We have already written instructions on how to create a ringtone for iPhone and what programs can be used to do this. And about how to install ringtones on iPhone. For some people who are far from computers, these articles, unfortunately, turned out to be “Chinese literacy”, and they, once again, became confident that everything on the iPhone is very complicated. And all the difficulties are due to the fact that the smartphone does not provide the ability to directly upload files to system applications. Of course, this can be justified by concern for the security of the iOS operating system. So that no one can push malicious code into the device. But the truth, of course, is in the money...

Why give users the opportunity to do something themselves for free when you can sell it for money. This also applies to the ability to set a ringtone for an iPhone ringtone. Apple has its own paid alternatives for all this :).

Ringtones for iPhone from the iTunes Store

The store will offer you to listen to free ringtones that you like. It should be noted that ringtones are grouped into groups: “Rock”, “Pop”, “Hip-hop”, etc. I liked the selection “Ringtones from Soundtracks”.

As you can see above, the cost of one ringtone is on average 22 rubles. But outdated and unpopular ringtones can be found for 18 rubles.

It should be noted that you can download a ringtone lasting 40 seconds on your iPhone. Therefore, you should pay attention to the length of the composition you want to download.

How to buy a ringtone on iTunes Srore

Of course, to buy a ringtone in iTunes you need to have money in your account or be connected bank card. The easiest way is to create a virtual QIWI card.

After you select and pay for the ringtone, it will be downloaded to your phone and you will be asked to activate it.

That's it, the ringtone is set.

Agree that everything is quite simple. This way you can set a ringtone on iPhone without iTunes programs and connections to a computer. Well, of course, you have to pay for simplicity. At this point, people who are not at all computer friendly can stop reading so as not to bother themselves.

How to save a ringtone to your computer

For those who know how to open iTunes (this is a program on a computer, not to be confused with the iTunes Srore store), we recommend synchronizing the purchased audio.

Now the iPhone ringtones you bought will remain on your computer’s hard drive and you won’t be so sorry for the money you spent.

No matter how reliable the equipment, questions inevitably arise during its operation. Some of them are caused by software failures, others by electronic malfunctions, however, fortunately, there is a category of problems that can be solved without contacting service center or buying a new device. These are the questions most often asked in the comments, and in the Genius section we will try to help with them.

The first question is about ringtones not appearing in the list after a factory reset.

To restore purchased ringtones, go to iOS device you need to go to: http://www.itunes.com/restore-tones.

After that, enter your account information Apple records ID, we agree to the restoration and continue working with the gadget as usual. Once the procedure is completed, you will receive a corresponding notification, by opening which you can not only download all purchased ringtones, but also automatically assign them to previously selected contacts. Of course, do not forget that if you have ringtones on your device that were copied from iTunes to your Mac or PC, you should disable their synchronization in this program to avoid re-downloading.

The second question concerns several problems with using .

The fact is that, according to the official documentation of the manufacturer, the text in the login window is displayed in the language selected during the installation of Mac OS X or when you launch Mac OS X for the first time on a new Mac computer. To change this, go to our favorite application “Terminal” and enter the following command (note that you will need to have and enter the administrator password).

To set the desired language, select its number from the list and press the key .

Your humble servant also encountered the second problem described. To prevent custom images from disappearing after you restart your computer, you can copy them to your system wallpaper folder located at: /Library/Desktop Pictures. To do this we use a simple key combination + + [G], enter the address in the field that appears and move the required image by entering the administrator password. Now the picture can be set as wallpaper using context menu or the “Desktop and Screen Saver” item in the “System Preferences” panel.
As you can see, we are not talking about failures, but rather about the peculiarities of the system, the current release of which, El Capitan, is one of the most stable in recent times.

The last question concerns an always relevant topic - Mac purchases Abroad.

In order to buy a device with a keyboard layout different from the standard one for the country, Apple’s online stores provide a special option. To do this, select a product and go to the “Buy” section and, having decided on the desired model, we get to the configuration page. This is where the item we are interested in lurks, allowing us to select a keyboard marked in the selected language, as well as a user manual printed on it.

It is worth noting that the availability of this feature should be checked separately for each country. Thus, in the German Apple Online Store discussed above, the keyboard turned out to be available for order, while the Finnish and American (USA) sections do not offer this for some reason. As for offline purchases, you should contact the employees of the specific Apple Store.

We received the following question:

My husband installed it on his computer. Windows 7. After installing the new OS, iTunes. When synchronizing between an iPhone and iTunes, iTunes deleted all the programs purchased from the AppleStore. How to restore deleted and paid programs. Thank you. Elena

First, tell your husband that every time you reinstall the system, you must make a backup of the iTunes folder in the music subfolder of the Windows user folder.

Secondly, you definitely won’t have to pay a second time for programs you’ve already purchased. But the problem is to find and download them. The solution to the problem is the same for both Windows and Mac OS X:

1) in iTunes, in the Store menu, select "To come in" and enter your Apple ID with password

3) look in the iTunes settings tab "Shop" and check the top two boxes:

4) if the download of programs does not start automatically, in the iTunes Store menu, select the option "Check for available downloads":

If this does not help, then you will have to download all purchased programs manually. If you forgot them full list, then in the same “Store” menu, select the item "View my account» , and on the information page click the button Purchase History.
