A lot has already been written here about the advantages of a working device and I agree with everyone, so let’s go straight to the disadvantages. The only thing I want to add is that I really liked SPen.. Writing texts, at least for me, was inconvenient, so after several attempts I abandoned this idea, but I really liked sketching out a primitive diagram of a room or a kitchen cabinet with dimensions.. much more convenient than do the same on a piece of paper, and then look for it.

I bought a tablet as a gift for my wife in December 2012. Therefore, the maximum configuration with 64GB was chosen. In April 2013, at one point he died - multi-colored ripples appeared on the screen and none of my manipulations (reboots, an attempt to completely reset, etc.) had a positive effect. I took it to the service center under warranty. Where they replaced the system board. After that it worked great for another 4 months. And so, while abroad, where it was especially needed as a navigator, a cartoon player for my daughter. a means of accessing the Internet and as a telephone (a local SIM card was inserted into it), for no apparent reason he simply passed out. Today I took it back to the service center, where in a conversation with the technician I found out that this problem periodically occurs with these 64GB tablets and is caused by filling the internal

Life time. Equal to the guarantee and that’s all...With very careful handling turned off, discharged and will no longer charge or turn on. They said it was a defect motherboard. IN service center The repair costs 15 thousand. They offered to buy it for spare parts. Moreover, the connector for the pen was bent. I called the Samsung company, they told me (literally): “What do you want, this is technology...” This kind of treatment is visible to everyone. I don’t want to buy Samsung equipment anymore, especially expensive ones.

It is impossible to flash the 64 GB version (and downloading it from the manufacturer’s website will not help you) - if the firmware fails, then the tablet becomes a piece of iron, suitable only for selling the matrix.
After six months of use, large black squares began to appear on the display.
The stylus is difficult to use, so it is practically unnecessary.
    The tablet itself is heavy.
Adobe Flash Player, even if installed, it does not work, so the video can only be watched on YouTube and on some sites.
On startup text files sometimes it crashes.
When charging or accessing the Internet, it heats up quite noticeably.3.Very short wire The charger is 96 cm, it’s missing everywhere, it’s very annoying! When charging from the outlet, the tablet lies on the floor, from the computer - on the system unit.
    4. Expensive branded accessories. They even sell the docking station without a wire! Considering the length of the included cable, the docking station should be located almost on the power source (computer outlet), which is simply absurd. You can't put a tablet in a case in the Dock. The docking station is an expensive and useless thing, I don’t recommend buying it.
    5. There are many complaints about defects in the top version 64GB.

While cases of counterfeit tablets becoming more common, we offer several ways to distinguish a counterfeit from an original.

Recently, counterfeits of Samsung tablets have become more frequent. How to distinguish a fake from the original? During tablet tests, we examined two fake Samsung Galaxy Note and discovered many differences, knowledge of which will help you avoid falling for scammers.

So, two fakes came to us through third hands: and Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 SM-P600, better known as Galaxy Note 2014 Edition. The history of acquiring counterfeit tablets for many is approximately the same: a market, a train station or a street, a bustling atmosphere, a certain person who needs money and does not need a tablet generously offers to purchase a tablet from his own hands and for a very low price. A receipt from Euroset (or another “network”) and a warranty card are included with the purchase. Moreover, in our case, in addition to the charger and USB adapter, the kit already included a case with a keyboard in it.

How to distinguish a fake by a receipt?

The first thing we noticed was, of course, the checks. Checks that appear to be genuine at first glance turn out to be fake upon closer inspection. By the way, Euroset checks are most often forged.

We turned to Euroset-Retail LLC for a comment, but they couldn’t tell us anything over the phone and advised us to contact law enforcement agencies. But in Euroset stores, experienced sellers immediately found many differences between the fake check and the original. According to them, cash register receipts may differ from region to region and from city to city, but regardless of this, each check of the network must contain certain information, which was not found on counterfeit checks:

— The real check should say Euroset-Retail LLC, not Euroset LLC. Check true name legal entity a retailer, as a rule, is possible either on the official websites of these retailers or in sales showrooms.

— Also, the full name of the product must be on the real receipt. IN in this case, the fake receipt did not contain the full name of the product (in our case, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 should have been written on the cash receipt)

— The receipt must have the serial number of the product (in our case it was not there).

— The full name of the seller must be present. The seller's name was not listed on the fraudulent check.

How to distinguish a fake by the appearance of the device?

— Appearance of the front panel.

As a rule, a fake tablet looks different from the original. In our case, both fakes look almost identical from the front: only the fake SM-P600 has the logo moved upward, like the original, and applied crookedly, which is visible even to the eye. The fake N8000 has a logo at the bottom, as befits a real Galaxy Note N8000. In our case, it was easy to distinguish a fake by the size of the tablet. The display diagonal of both fakes does not exceed 9 inches, instead of the required 10.1 inches!

— Availability and location of ports and connectors.

Paradoxically, a fake almost always differs from the original in its set of ports. This time too, they didn’t resemble anything at all what Samsung tablets should have.

The most notable thing, perhaps, is a separate “back” button on the top edge and a separate DC socket for power on the right (the charger included had a specific plug, not Micro-USB plug). Actually, this charger is one of the important indicators of a fake. Many people then go to stores for the same charger from “Samsung tablets” and are sincerely surprised that Samsung does not and never had such chargers.

— View of the rear panel.

As for the rear panels, the scammers got something wrong here. For some reason, the fake Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 back panel is stylized in a very cheap way to resemble leather, and the fake Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 SM-P600 has a smooth back, when the originals should have the opposite: the real Samsung Galaxy Tab N8000 is smooth on the back, and the Galaxy Note 2014 Edition has a leather-like back. Additionally, in both cases the camera lenses are offset to the corner rather than centered.

How to distinguish a craft by its filling and functionality?

The third thing you should also pay attention to is the filling and functionality of the device. Counterfeits differ from real ones in every possible way. Some things you can easily check:

— Displays. The easiest way to “see” a fake is to turn on the display. Most often, pixels are visible on them, and the colors do not look entirely natural. The displays of the fakes are terrible - with a resolution of 800x480 pixels, instead of the promised 1280x800 on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 and the required 2560x1600 for the Note 10.1 SM-P600. Not to mention color rendering and matrix.

- Battery. If during a 5-minute presentation of the tablet the battery charge drains by more than 1-2%, then it is most likely not the original. The battery of the fakes runs out quite quickly, literally in half an hour. In our test of two fake Samsungs, the batteries lost 10% charge in 5-7 minutes! Moreover, when charging from the mains, the charger included in the kit began to whistle and crackle.

- Processor. The fakes use ultra-cheap processors from Allwinner (the AnTuTu benchmark identified our tablets as Allwinner-Tablet N8000 and Allwinner-Tablet SM-P600). The processors of this company are very cheap: for example, the “more expensive” Allwinner A33 processor can be bought for $4 - you can imagine how much the Allwinner A23 used in these tablets costs.

Benchmarks showed that both devices are weaker than Samsung’s flagship smartphone from two years ago, the Samsung Galaxy S3: one was rated twice as weak, the other by about a quarter. Allwinner SM-P600 has almost half a gigabyte random access memory, that’s why it turned out to be stronger, but the Allwinner N8000 only has a quarter of GB! Basically, the first Apple iPad there was the same amount of RAM, and it sold well, only that was 4 years ago.

The fake has an Allwinner Tech A23 processor instead of the original Exynos 4412

- Cameras. They are very easy to check. To do this, you need to go to the camera settings and look at the maximum photo resolution. If you see that the resolution is small, then it is definitely a fake. Both fakes included in Product-test turned out to have two cameras and both are 0.3 MP!

— GPS receiver. Go to settings and see if you can enable GPS and if there are any settings for it. Or try downloading any GPS test app like GPS Test. If there is no GPS, then it will be impossible to download applications and a corresponding message will appear stating that GPS is not supported.

Both “our” fake tablets did not have a GPS receiver. It is theoretically possible that there is GPS, but there is no such function in the settings, and it will not be detected by any navigation programs. True, this is almost incredible and is equivalent to their absence for most users.

— If the seller (or documentation) claims that the tablet is equipped with a modem, then it must also have an IMEI number. If you couldn't find it, then ask your seller to do it for you. If the tablet is equipped with a modem IMEI numbers no, then most likely you have a fake in your hands.

— Interface. Original Samsung tablets use proprietary TouchWiz interface. You can distinguish it by eye if you have ever seen a “naked” Android and once held it in your hands real tablet Samsung.

Interface of the fake Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 Interface of the original Samsung Galaxy Note N8000

— Instructions for the tablet. All you have to do is look at it and read a little. In our case, the instructions for both tablets were full of typos (!), the same screenshots from “pure” Android, black and white pictures, an unpresentable font, which is simply incredible for the instructions for a real device from Samsung, the receipt of which contains numbers in the range of 17- 20 thousand rubles.

- Stylus. The “trick” of the Galaxy Note series tablets is the included stylus, which the fakes did not have. It is easy to check - you just need to look at the body.

— Counterfeits cannot be recognized using original programs, such as Samsung Kies 3, which is completely unsurprising. Unfortunately, it will be problematic to check in the field in this way.

— Display diagonal. If you have a ruler or a good eye, deception can be recognized in this way. The diagonal of both fakes does not exceed 9 inches, instead of the required 10.1 inches.

- Built-in memory. You can check the memory in the tablet settings, but it’s safer to connect it to a computer and see how much memory is available. Instead of the promised 64 GB of internal memory, one tablet turned out to have 16 GB, and the other 4 GB of memory.

Recognize fakes with the help of manufacturer support

We contacted Samsung's support chat, but there we were "sent" to law enforcement agencies. Then we called Samsung support at 8-800-555-55-55. There they told us that when buying a product secondhand, a person can contact them and they will instruct him on how to distinguish an original tablet from a fake one based on the settings. We were also told that the fakes differ from the originals in almost everything: from the interface to the types of SIM cards (the latter is not relevant in our case, since there was simply no slot for SIM cards on the fakes). As a rule, each major manufacturer has its own hotline support service where you can contact for help in such cases.

The considered fakes are, of course, two special cases and do not pretend to be general. Counterfeits can be different, improved, just like counterfeit checks, becoming more similar to the real thing. In this case, the easiest way would be to recognize a fake by the incorrect cash receipt(without the full name of the product and its serial number), low display resolution, the presence of a DC power socket, incorrect placement of cameras and low photo resolution, and finally, simply due to the small size of the tablets. Well, the most important piece of advice that will allow you to avoid problems is to not buy tablets secondhand, no matter how positive and honest the “seller” may seem! Remember: free cheese is only in a mousetrap.

Product-test continues to test tablets in the field. You can find the results of comparative tests of tablets in our tablet rating where is everyone popular models compared with each other on the most important parameters.

Counterfeits of popular tablet models appear on sale not much later than the official start of sales. Large brands suffer the most from the actions of such “craftsmen.” Buyers who receive a counterfeit under the guise of an original Samsung Galaxy Note H8000 tablet may be forever disappointed in the brand. What can you do to avoid falling for scammers?

The level and quality of counterfeits is constantly improving. The first versions of fakes are so crude that even an inexperienced buyer can spot it. All the tips listed below are general and will certainly help you identify a fake. But do not forget that you may have a fake tablet in your hands. highest quality, and to determine its authenticity will require more attention to details and characteristics.

The photo below is an example of an original tablet and a fake. In our case, it is very easy to identify a fake, even by appearance. The size of the tablet does not correspond to reality; the Samsung logo is smaller in size. The display diagonal of the counterfeit tablet is about 9 inches. At the same time, the diagonal of the original Samsung tablet is 10.1 inches.

The fake that ended up in our hands is radically different from the original in the arrangement of ports and connectors. This is clearly visible in the photo below. Any comments here are unnecessary.

The charger of this Samsung tablet has a Micro-USB connector. Our fake is equipped with a connector of unknown origin, and this is clearly visible in the photo of the plug from charger. If you try to buy such a charger in a store, you will fail, which once again confirms the fakeness of the tablet as a whole.

The back panel of the Samsung GalaxyNoteN8000 branded tablet with a diagonal of 10.1 inches is smooth. In our fake it is stylized to look like cheap leather. Here we see the camera lens shifted to the corner, while on the original tablet it is located in the center.

After turning on the planet, the fake will allow you to calculate the low quality of the matrix and color rendition, including noticeable pixels on cheap copies. The display resolution of the original Samsung Galaxy Note tablet is 1280x800 pixels, while the fake one is only 800x480.

The fake tablet runs on the cheapest Chinese Allwinner processor. For example, the most expensive processor from this company costs no more than $4. It's not difficult to guess what quality our processor has. The original tablet uses Exynos 4412 processors.

The camera is another weak point of any fake. In our case, the tablet manufacturer installed a 0.3 MP camera in his “work of art”.

Also, a fake can be identified by the small amount of built-in memory, the appearance of icons, desktop, installed applications and similar little things.

A hard reset did not help (resetting to factory settings), this was the first time I encountered such a problem, so the first solution was to seek help from experts. I took it to one miracle workshop, where it lay for almost half a year.. They couldn’t find the firmware in any way.. My patience came to an end, I took it away. On the way home I picked up a few more pros. They promised to do it within a day. To come pick it up in the evening - it turns out they didn’t ask for it. The answer is the same - they can’t find the firmware. They returned it in the same condition that I gave it to them.

Well, it wasn’t, I thought and decided to make my contribution to the repair of this unit, it can’t get any worse. After rummaging through the forums at home, reading how and what they use to sew such devices, I realized that the most important thing is to guess the firmware version. There were a lot of firmware options online for similar Samsung Galaxy Nout counterfeits. So I started downloading and trying them.

The most popular firmware for this device on the network turned out to be this: MaPan_MX913_DC_Jelly_Bean_4.1os_Root_Firmware_D20130601_UP And MaPan_MX913_DC_Jelly_Bean_4.2_Os_Root_Firmware_J20131101, but they completely lacked touchscreen support. That is, everything is beautiful, even if it’s in Chinese, but you can’t move your finger across the screen, you can only control the tablet from the keyboard, which turned out to be very inconvenient. I started looking for other options. On the site w3bsit3-dns.com and other similar sites, I found a lot of useful information. And having tried 100500 firmware, I never found one that would work with the tablet normally. Some worked with the touchscreen, but it had a dead zone about a centimeter from below, others had the calibration of pressing the screen knocked down, that is, you had to point your finger a centimeter below, others did not have a motion sensor or accelerator, some were in Mexican or completely in Arabic languages and so on. In general, I was tired of looking for a pig in a poke and I remembered that when I disassembled this tablet, I took several pictures of its insides and decided to look at the markings on them. The fact that there was a miracle processor there

All Winner A13 I remembered, and it didn’t give me anything, but what other inscriptions were there... After looking through the photos, I found this treasured inscription on one of the boards of the nameless tablet: “For-Fun Q3 Main v1.4”.

Well, now at least there was some other clue. Having gone to the software repository on mail ru through the same wonderful site 4PDA, I found several firmware for "For-Fun Q3 Main v1.4". Well, there was little left to do. Having downloaded the one that weighed more, 624 meters, I uploaded it to my tablet, waited impatiently for it to reboot, and was upset, the tablet froze on the same inscription “android”, on the second try I was lucky, downloading this “ZET6223WTAROM” weighing in 446 megabytes, firmware, I got 100% results! The tablet started working. Everything, absolutely everything worked as it should. Loading speed, screen, touchscreen and Wi-Fi - everything worked perfectly. I didn’t even imagine how it would be possible to upload a lot of cool applications to this China! The firmware turned out to be compiled on Android 4.0.4, which also pleased me, that is, it was more recent.

Well, now, in order, how and with what I did it all.

What we need: a computer with the Windows XP or Windows 7 32-bit operating system, the Phoenix suit program, a cord for connecting the tablet, firmware and the tablet itself.

First we need to do preliminary preparation- setting up the tablet driver, both enabled and in firmware mode.
To do this we do the following:

1) install the Phoenix suit program on your computer (download)

2) We connect the switched on tablet, we hear the sound of the connected device, we see the ANDROID device in the equipment

click on it right click We Shki, select - Update driver

In the next window, select what is shown in the figure below

click what is shown below:

click next:

then "Install from disk":

then click on button "REVIEW" and indicate the path to the folder with the installed softwaregram Phoenix Suit\Drivers\AW_Driver

And click "OPEN", select usbdrv from the AW_Driver folder, click on "Open" again

and then to "OK"

The following window will appear with the driver that needs to be installed, ignoring the warning that it does not have digital signature click "NEXT"

the equipment will be installed and a message will appear indicating that everything is ready.

All the same actions need to be performed with the tablet in UPDATE mode (this is when it is turned off, press the "Volume +" button, hold it and connect it via a cord to the PC, the red indicator on the tablet lights up, but the screen does not light up. The device will definitely be like an unknown one , perform all the same actions described above). Otherwise, Phoenix Suit will not see the tablet and will not be able to flash it.

We launch it, and do not forget to make sure that no errors occurred during the installation process, the goodle driver was installed

2) download this firmware (download) or another.

Now the actual firmware:
We launch the Phoenix suit program, click on the “anchor” icon, select the firmware, connect the cord to the computer via USB, then with the tablet turned OFF, press the “Volume +” button, hold it, connect the cord to the tablet and quickly press (without releasing the “Volume +” button "Back button, the firmware will start automatically after detecting the device.

Fake tablet Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 64Gb.

Unexpectedly, I recently came across a powerful 64Gb Samsung tablet from the Galaxy Note N8000 series, or to be more precise, I came across a counterfeit of this model.

About a week ago the phone rang. An acquaintance called me and told me that he was being offered to buy a new tablet for only $250. At that time he was interested real cost of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 64Gb 3G tablet, to which I answered him with data obtained from Yandex Market - the price of a new tablet varies from 7.9 to 9.5 million Belarusian rubles ($800 - $970).

Out of curiosity, I looked at the characteristics of this model.

Characteristics of the Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 64Gb tablet.

4 nuclear processor at 1400 MHz
2 Gigabytes of RAM
64 GB of internal memory
10.1 inch screen
High screen resolution - 1280 by 800 pixels
2 cameras
Case with separate keyboard
Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and other gadgets

The model is more than solid, The tablet was purchased at the beginning of the month in Moscow, but now the owner needs money and so he sells it. A friend told me that this tablet even has warranty card and receipt from the store with the Euroset stamp, which in principle eliminates the possibility of counterfeiting.

Omitting details, he bought this tablet for $150, and he received such a discount after he said that he needed to connect it to the computer and check everything. Neither one nor the other had time, so they agreed on this.

A little later, a friend of mine brought this tablet to me for testing, but at that time I had work to do and I still had to go to training. In the end, I was able to start checking the tablet only late in the evening and that’s where all the fun began.

How to check the tablet?

When I got home, I tried to turn on the tablet, but it wasn’t possible for me to do it the first time. It turned out that the battery of the Galaxy Note N8000 tablet was completely discharged.

I connected it via USB to my computer, the charging indicator lit up on the screen and then I was able to start the device for the first time.

Cool - everything works, I opened applications, clicked settings, connected the tablet to WiFi, used the Internet and even played some games installed by the previous owner. During such work, the tablet turned off several times by itself, and the battery charge level constantly jumped in an incomprehensible way - this alarmed me somewhat. Later, I attributed all the problems to a dead battery, turned off the tablet and left it to charge.

When my friend returned for the tablet, he asked me to send him a couple of movies and imagine my surprise when, instead of 64 gigabytes, my computer recognized only 2.

In the tablet settings it was displayed and inner memory and another 64 gigs, but for some reason not all of them worked.

I decided that N8000 tablet lacks drivers. In the device manager there was indeed an unrecognized device labeled “Android”.

I climbed to the official Samsung website, selected the desired device, downloaded and installed the Samsung Kies 3 program with drivers on my computer, and immediately encountered a new riddle. The thing is that the device was not recognized by the program at all, at the moment when my samsung smartphone The Galaxy S 2 was perfectly detectable.

I’m sitting at a dead end - I don’t understand what this tablet needs, what it lacks. In general, I fiddled with it for about 2-3 more hours before I began to think that it might actually turn out to be a banal fake.

I visited the legendary portal about mobile devices 4pda.ru, in search useful information, I tried to update operating system tablet, tried to reflash it and eventually even did hard reset (full reset), but still didn't get any results.

The next day I called another friend who also works in computer technology and tried to find out if he had encountered a similar problem. It turned out that it stacked and directed me in the right direction. He said it was fake.

How to distinguish a real tablet from a fake?

For some time I searched the Internet for any related information on how to distinguish a real tablet from a fake, in particular, how to identify a fake on the Samsung Galaxy Note N8000.

1. For the original tablet, the camera is in the center– on the fake it is moved to the corner.
2. This tablet has a Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 screen resolution 1280x800– the resolution of a fake is much lower. In my case, it was 960 by 600 - in other words, shortcuts and application icons were simply huge.
3. Fake tablet models do not have GPS. Try turning it on, and everything will immediately fall into place.
4. Original Samsung smartphones and tablets in “naked” mode supplied special applications like Samsung Apps, ChatON, Group Cast, etc. at a time when the functionality of fake versions is significantly reduced.
5. IMEI code Of course, this is not an indicator, however, in new and real devices it is always present, and in fakes it is usually written “unknown” instead.
6. Fake tablets Samsung brands are not recognized in the original Samsung program Kies.

A little from myself and photos.

I’m sure if you dig deeper on the Internet you can find many more ways to identify a fake, however, in this case, for me the very fact of the distribution of such tablets became a kind of discovery.

Okay, here my friend bought a tablet directly from his hands on the street, but it turns out that there have been cases when such models were easily sold to clients in fairly reputable stores like Svyaznoy. Where is the world heading?

And yes, by the way, after realizing and accepting the fact that the purchased Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 64Gb tablet turned out to be a fake, I again asked my friend to show me the warranty card and the receipt from the store.

At first glance, everything is as it should be, the amount matches on all documents, the receipt is stapled to the warranty card, the stamp, as is usually done in stores, is applied to the corner - everything is according to the rules. But if you take a closer look, it turns out that for some reason the book for the tablet comes from Samsung Galaxy TAB and not from the Samsung Galaxy Note and for some reason that same IMEI code is not registered at all.

In fact, this is what the tablet itself looked like.

This is what the main application menu looks like. Note the huge labels that hardly correspond high resolution, which I talked about earlier.

And these are the settings of a fake tablet. The N8000 model, Android version and other indicators are the same, but where is the guarantee that this data is generally adequate?

This is what the back cover of the Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 64Gb tablet looks like.

And by the way, an acquaintance whom I called to find out if he had come across such a fake, said that most often the inscription on the back cover is not made with paint, but simply pasted on, so this point can also be used as a check.

Considering that today it was difficult for me to find any information about counterfeits of this nature on the Internet, I hope that few people fell for the scammers and did not get away with it.

In general, this is how things are. Good luck everyone and be careful.

If you were offered to buy a fake or, God forbid, you became a victim of these scammers and swindlers, tell your friends about it. Warn and protect your loved ones!

Law enforcement agencies are not interested in solving such problems, and judging by how actively the discussion is going on, it has already gained enormous momentum.

I believe that at this stage the dissemination of information in in social networks This is perhaps the most effective way. Click on the “LIKE” button located under this article and add a link to your wall. Your friends and everyone who views your profile will see this warning and may have time to react correctly.

Let everyone know about this chaos - this is quite logical and correct.
