The developers of some programs consider themselves too smart and try to make decisions for the user. One of the manifestations of such “concern” is the installation of some incomprehensible plugins and add-ons in browsers. Moreover, such add-ons often cannot be removed using standard browser tools, but can only be disabled. Now I will teach you how to get rid of such “Danaan gifts” using my example - the SmartPrintButton extension, which is sold by the HP LaserJet Pro printer installer during installation. As you can see in the screenshot, the "Delete" button is indeed greyed out.
Launch the registry editor (Start - Run - regedit) and open the registry branch in it HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mozilla\Firefox\extensions
The parameter that immediately catches your eye is [email protected] , in extension and meaning clearly related to the Hewlett-Packard company. Let's delete it. The system will warn you about possible problems, but in in this case this is a false alarm. Delete and don’t think twice.
After restarting the browser, the hated add-on disappeared from the list, and the browser no longer displays any of its manifestations. In the same way, all other add-ons from Firefox that cannot be removed using standard browser tools are also removed.
Sometimes download master.exe and other system errors EXE errors may be related to problems in the Windows registry. Several programs can use the download master.exe file, but when those programs are uninstalled or modified, sometimes "orphaned" (incorrect) EXE registry entries are left behind.
Basically, this means that while the actual path of the file may have changed, its incorrect former location is still recorded in the Windows Registry. When Windows tries to look up these incorrect file references (file locations on your PC), download master.exe errors can occur. Additionally, a malware infection may have corrupted registry entries associated with Download Master. Thus, these corrupt EXE registry entries need to be fixed to fix the problem at the root.
Manually editing the Windows registry to remove invalid download master.exe keys is not recommended unless you are PC service professional. Before manually restoring Windows registry, you need to create a backup by exporting the part of the registry associated with download master.exe (for example, Download Master):
- Click on the button Begin.

- On the list Save to select the folder where you want to save the backup copy of the Download Master key.
- In field File name Enter a name for the backup file, for example "Download Master backup".
- Make sure the field Export range value selected Selected branch.
- Click Save.
- The file will be saved with extension .reg.
- You now have a backup of your download master.exe-related registry entry.

Download Master is one of the favorite programs of Internet users and Internet downloaders. Pros of this software product are obvious: free, multifunctional, able to squeeze out speed, etc. But being free, of course, also has disadvantages. But what to do if you are looking for a file in another place or download it very rarely, and the pop-up window shown in the picture below is pretty annoying.
The first thing you need to do is calm down: it's turning off! And it's very simple. You are too lazy to look for disabling this window in the settings, or your time is expensive for this search, because there are people who have encountered this for a long time and have resolved this issue in their favor. And if you come across this material, then you will definitely get rid of this small flaw in the program.
Now let's get down to action. It doesn’t matter what operating system DownloadMaster is installed on; before further actions, it is a priori understood that this program is installed and no matter where! So, go to the DM program - click “Tools”, select “Settings”:

Find the “Interface” menu, click... select the “Events” submenu:
Uncheck “When receiving news from TopDownloads.ru”. Click OK. Problem solved. If you decide to return the news back, then simply put a tick back. Now we use Download Master, without unnecessary notifications.
One of the most popular download managers today, especially in the post-Soviet space, is free and RussifiedDownload Master . But there is a problem: during installation, the program integrates by default into all popular web browsers, intercepting downloads, which not all users like. In this note, I will tell you how to quickly and painlessly get rid of such an annoying and one-sided “friendship” with your browser for the system, as well as how to disable the downloader’s subscription to news from the Russian file portal TopDownloads and stop sending information about your downloads to their server.
The npdm.dll plugin is responsible for integration into browsers, which is “cloned” into all listed browsers. Of course, by searching the system you can find and delete all these files, but there is an equally effective, but with the possibility of “rollback”, way to disable integration. To do this, click on the “Tools” item in the top menu bar, go to “Settings” of Download Master > then “General” > in the “Integration” window, uncheck the unnecessary items > click “Apply”.
To completely get rid of the “tutelage” on the part of developers, which I talked about in the very first paragraph, I recommend opening “Other” settings > in the “TopDownloads Settings” window, check the box next to “Disable sending information about links to the service” and uncheck “ Receive news about popular files" > final "OK". For browsers Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera, Safari, Yandex Browser, this is all manipulation.
I also recommend that users of the functional Mozilla Firefox take the time to open the browser tab “Manage Add-ons” (via “Tools” in the menu bar > “Add-ons”) and “Disable” four “add-ons” from the hero of this publication: “Download Master Media Monitor”, Download Master Plugin", "Download Master Remote Download" and "Download Master Toolbar". After restarting Firefox, all changes will take effect.
Now in your favorite browser no one will monitor and intercept download links, and if Download Master is removed from the startup of Windows programs and services, they will open the manager’s developers’ website every time.
