The company almost never releases iOS updates on Friday, so it's best to check for an update around 10:00 pm (UTC) Monday through Thursday.
The same goes for the iOS 11.4 beta updates.
iOS 11.4: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO UPDATE?
We don't know the exact size, but the iOS 11.4 update is likely to be quite heavy.
The latest iOS 11.4 beta is quite heavy (several hundred megabytes) and we expect the final version of the update to eat up a significant chunk of storage on your device.
We can expect iOS 11.4 to take about a minute to download. high speed Wi-Fi and installation on your device will take more than five minutes. Exact download and installation times will vary depending on your device and current version of iOS.
If you're updating older software, such as iOS 11.2.6 or iOS 10, installing iOS 11.4 will take a little longer because the update will include features and fixes from other versions of iOS.

Apple's iOS 11.4 update is set to be a solid release, you might be tempted to install it with the official release.
For some of you, especially those who are using the iOS 11.4 beta or have encountered annoying iOS 11 issues, this is a great solution. However, some of you may find it easier to wait a few hours, a few days, or in some cases a few weeks before installing iOS 11.4.
There are many reasons to avoid installing new software on day one. iOS updates can harm your device's performance, especially the performance of older devices. If you have an iPhone 5 or iPhone 6, be careful.

Upgrading to the latest public version of the iOS 11 update will be easy and free. Downloading and installing one of the beta versions will be a little more complicated, and creating a developer account costs $99 per year (R6,000/year).
New featuresiOS 11
Apple's WWDC 2017 saw a ton of new features introduced for iOS 11, and it was hard to keep up with so much information! Below we provide a summary of each of the main functions. Many of them are focused exclusively on the iPad, but we'll discuss the features of the iPad, iPhone, and iPod here.
Updated app store
One of the biggest updates to iOS 11 is the App Store update. Launching the app will first take you to the Today tab, which is designed to help you discover new apps. You'll see new collections, a daily list focused on a specific theme, there's even teaching aids, which show how to do certain things in a new application.
The second new tab is called "Games" and this is where you can find both new and popular games, as well as in-app purchases for games you already own, are available to view and download directly from the App Store. You'll also see previews, tips, and videos under the Games tab.
Apps also get their own, similarly designed tabs for the rest of the content available in Apple's app store.
Control Center, Lock Screen and Notifications
The lock screen and notifications have now been combined into one screen, but a much more exciting change is the exciting Control Center and it's finally even more customizable.
It now brings all the features into one page with new sliders. There you'll also find 3D Touch to provide quick access to more settings and features that look like they'll make life a lot easier.
New featuresiMessage
The Messages app has been updated in iOS 11 with some new features including new box applications, as well as a new peer-to-peer transfer feature Apple Pay, allowing you to pay contacts via iMessage and more.
The new Apple Pay feature still uses the TouchID sensor for the fingerprint scanner, and money received will immediately go to Apple card Pay, which you can use to make future Apple Pay payments or transfer funds to your bank account.
iCloud also has new messages that automatically sync with all your conversations on everyone iOS devices and macOS.

Apple is also adding a new QuickType keyboard, which means for the iPhone you'll be able to use the device with one hand. It will move the keys closer to your thumb for one-handed typing.

Siri has a new, more natural male and female voice, as well as a new visual interface.

A new Depth API has been released for developers, which means they will be able to use iPhone camera 7 Plus to add Additional information into your applications.
Apple also includes new technology High Image Performance Format (HEIF), which reduces the size of your iPhone photos 7 or iPhone 7 Plus.
The camera also gets a built-in QR scanner.
Live photo effects
Not only can you now choose a Live Photo frame to decorate your key photo, Apple is also offering new Effects available for use with Live Photos.
The new Loops effect will turn your Live Photos into an endless loop of video, Bounce can play and then stop the clip. And it's a really cool feature that means you can combine Live Photos to create stunning effects for waterfalls or city shots.
Internal maps and advanced navigation
Airport maps and shopping centers coming soon and we're also going to get information about your speed and lane navigation.
With the iOS 11 update, you'll be able to use Do Not Disturb mode while driving. When it is activated, incoming calls will be intercepted and you will also see a call notification when you arrive at your destination.
ImprovementsAirPlay 2 andAppleMusic
The new AirPlay protocol offers a host of new features for speakers, including multi-room support as well as AirPlay 2 audio DPI for development.
You'll also be able to see what your friends have been listening to on Apple Music thanks to new public profiles.

It looks like Apple is slowly but surely creating a tablet that can compete with the laptop, and with this iOS 11 update and new features for the iPad, the tablet is certainly moving in the right direction.
iOS 11: Better multitasking

The new Dock in iOS 11 for iPad means you can quickly and easily access your favorite and most-used apps or files from any screen. In addition to the Dock, the new slider design will make life easier when you want to change apps or open a new one.

For iPad Pro models, Apple Pencil is better than ever with new integrated stylus support, plus new feature Instant Notes, which allows you to open the Notes app directly from the lock screen with a simple tap.

Features thatApple did not provideiOS 11
Below we list all the rumored features that have not been confirmed (at least not yet!).
Dark mode
Users have widely expected that iOS 10 will feature a new Dark Mode, with a black background that is much easier on the eyes at night. In fact, Apple announced exactly that, but with tvOS, and we're still waiting for dark mode for iOS.
In fact, Dark Mode was discovered in iOS 10, back in the first version of iOS 10 Beta 1, launched back in June, but it is still not unlocked. We're not sure why Apple bothered to add this feature if it didn't plan to enable it in the near future, but it's possible that beta testing revealed functionality issues that led to the feature being disabled.
Multi-user calls toFaceTime
According to a report from Verifier, Apple is said to be introducing a long-requested feature by iOS users in the iOS 11 update: the ability to make group calls over FaceTime video, similar to services like Skype. The report doesn't stop there either, adding that Apple is considering making the FaceTime app more social, including filters similar to those we've seen in apps like Snapchat and MSQRD, which have been huge successes.
It's worth noting that Apple released Faceshift in late 2015, a technology that can capture a user's facial expression and turn the face into a 3D avatar in real time. Could this technology be an integral part of the planned iOS 11 overhaul? We can only wait and watch. It's also worth noting that Verifier, despite the name, has a negligible track record in rumors with Apple and therefore you should take the rumor with a pinch of salt.
Screen sharing will also be available on FaceTime, according to reports. Screen sharing is a useful feature if you're trying to help troubleshoot an iOS device remotely.
Multiple user accounts
Still unconfirmed information that is also widespread in rumors about a future tvOS update.
It is believed that tvOS 11 will include account switching, making it easier to use one Apple TV to store and switch between multiple users' media, application or game libraries, as well as their personal data and settings. This makes sense for Apple TV, the most popular family entertainment center and a device widely used to serve children's games and adult movies. And no one wants the rest of the family to view their files, nor do they need recommendations from other users about streams.
But 9to5Mac goes further and argues that it would be inconsistent if Apple suggested that tvOS 11 include this feature while leaving it out for iOS. The iPhone may be overwhelmingly a personal device, but most iPads are not. Some do double duty as a child's toy, others are designed to entertain guests or are used by multiple employees in a retail setting. And iOS users have been asking for user accounts for years.
Augmented reality in camera
Rumors suggest that users will be able to point their camera at an object and Apple's software will recognize it. This might be useful if you've forgotten a friend's name, as you could theoretically point the camera and use the facial recognition feature. Or, most likely, you will use the camera to determine the name of a flower in your garden.
New featuresiMessages
The Bloomberg report mentioned above also mentions improvements to Apple's social features, which are designed to "more effectively connect users with their contacts." Apple wants to offer a means to unify communications between individual users. For example, two friends can see all text messages, messages Email and interact in in social networks each other in the same window, according to a Bloomberg source.
We'd like to see support for reading iMessages group messages, a feature available in WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.
Contact availability status
Apple has filed a patent that can be "summarized as a system that detects where your friends are, whether they are available, and their work status on their iPhone (e.g. silent mode or airplane mode) and presents this information in the Contacts app.
The patent shows that Apple is considering a new feature that would allow users to see an indication at a glance to see if their contacts are available for conversation and where they are located.

Dynamic keyboard with finger detection
Apple has been granted a patent covering dynamic keyboard placement on touch screens, causing individual keys to change their location in response to detecting the position of the user's fingertips.
The patent, titled “Finger Pointing Detection for Enhanced Typing,” describes a concept in which input “improves dynamically and automatically positions the desired on-screen keyboard row keys under the user's fingers as their fingers hover above the surface. Reducing the need for the user to look at the on-screen keyboard while typing."
We wouldn't be surprised if the concept makes its way to a system-wide keyboard (albeit presumably as an option) in a future iOS update, although it appears to be aimed at tablets. Of course, this isn't the first iOS feature to be used on the iPad. The most famous example is probably the split-screen view added to the iPad with the launch of iOS 9.
While the granted patent was published in November 2016, it effectively ratifies Apple's acquisition of the patent when it bought Automotive Technologies back in September 2014. Virtualoft's Virtoft virtual keyboard uses a similar principle to enable touch input.
Slide to unlock device
Sounds familiar? It should be so because we used this method to unlock iPhone and iPad in iOS 9 and every previous version iOS. In its latest incarnation, this solution resembled the following:
In iOS 10, Apple got rid of the slide to unlock the device, changing the interface so that you simply press the Home button (while simultaneously launching the Touch ID fingerprint scanner on Apple devices, eliminating the point of the slide). But some users were unhappy with this decision, which led to a petition asking for the return of slide unlocking.
Will this put enough pressure on Apple (and this is where problems arise, since at the time of this writing, the petition had 1,549 signatures, although we've heard similar sentiments from more people) to bring back slide unlocking in iOS 11? We don't think so. Apple fans have had problems with the interface before, especially in iOS 7, but most of us got used to the new solutions over time.
Changing cosmetic/aesthetic settings
There is a possibility that the iOS 11 update changelog will include radical new features to customize the system interface.
These changes include dynamically animated app icons that show, for example, your current location in the Maps icon or the current weather in Weather widgets. The ability to place shortcuts in any of the free grid slots on the screen, instead of iOS automatically sending the shortcut to the closest free slot to the top left edge of the screen. Custom system fonts. Changing the way it works on widescreen iPhones so that the system shrinks the interface to fit the size of a smaller phone, rather than dragging the interface around, hiding some of the icons off the screen.
SmartWi-Fi
Huawei P9 is one of a range Huawei phones, offering a feature called Wi-Fi+ (or Wi-Fi 2.0). This solution includes features like prioritizing strong connections, but what we like most is the ability to automatically turn Wi-Fi on or off based on your location.
