Thus, to enter the menu you will need to dial *3001#12345# In this mode, for example, you can change the name of the network operator displayed in standby mode. To do this, select NAM1, scroll to the Alpha Tag sub-item, change it as desired (for example, write Vovochka and press OK. Exit the mode by turning the phone off and on.
It is possible that this code will also work on other phone models (51xx, 61xx).

*#0000#—birthday and phone software version
*#06#-on many imei phones
*#92702689# - some kind of *broken menu - I don’t know why
*#3370# and *#3370* - on and off call quality - something like that, but not all operators support this crap. Nokia itself was re-flashed v 5.79

NOKIA 5120&5125 service code:
In addition to the above, there are a couple more SERVICE CODE
1) *#639#(*#NEW#) is used to add a number, i.e. you can register several telephone numbers, and switch between them.

2) *#92772689#(*#WARRANTY#)
1) Serial number
2) Release date
3) Date of reprogramming
4) Date of last repair.
5) Includes data transfer
6) Total talk time.

3) *#837# or *#VER# phone version (not supported by all models)

4) *#9999# or *#6120# softa version (not supported by all models)

before changing anything in the settings
THINK WELL IF YOU CAN RETURN EVERYTHING IN PLACE LATER
ESPECIALLY IN POINT 1
It is not possible to change the name of the operator on all NOKIA models in the latest models this feature is blocked by the manufacturer.
the only (almost) plus of this code service *#3001#12345# is the ability to recover a “FOGOTTEN” password to turn on your mobile phone.
And the second plus is that the level of the received signal is visible.

Smartphones

*#06# - IMEI of the smartphone (IMEI number - consists of 15 digits, it is unique and every phone has it). This number must match the number on the box.
*#0000# - firmware number
safe mode ("PENCIL"+Power)
*#7780# - restore original (working) smart settings
*#7370# - reset the smart to factory settings (i.e. all software, contacts, calendar, etc. are deleted - the smart becomes clean!)
ATTENTION! To use the last two codes you will need to enter the phone lock code (default 12345)!
Safe Mode when you turn on the phone - “PENCIL” + “Power Buttion”
Loading into Safe:
1. Turn off your phone
2. Press "PENCIL" (and DO NOT release)
3. Press the power button
4. Hold the “PENCIL” until it is FULLY loaded!!!
*#2820# - unique address of the Bluetooth module of your device (may be needed by other devices that cannot display names).
*#7370925538# - clearing the “Wallet” (for 6600 and higher - which have a “Wallet”).
*3370# (phone must reboot) improves sound quality (using EFR), but reduces battery life.
#3370# - resets the sound quality to normal (cancels the *3370# code).
EFR CODEC (Enhanced Full Rate)
This function when enabled, in theory, it should significantly improve the quality of transmitted speech, but, unfortunately, it must be supported by the operator cellular communications. When it works, the phone's power consumption during talk time increases slightly (about 5%). As far as we know, none of the Russian mobile operators support this function. The principle is based on a different speech compression algorithm (ACELP) and occupies a wider frequency band.
*4720# - enable Half Rate Codec (HFR)
#4720# - disable Half Rate Codec (HFR)
HR CODEC (Half Rate)
Significantly degrades speech quality, but saves battery by about 30%. Again, must be supported by your cellular operator.
*#92702689# - enter the service menu [*#war0anty#]

Codes for determining whether LOC is installed on the device or not
Your Nokia can be blocked by 4 types of locks:
SPROVIDER-LOCK - 1
NETWORK-LOCK - 2
COUNTRY-LOCK - 3
SIMCARD-LOCK - 4

To check the status of these locks, enter the following line:
#pw+(MASTERCODE)+(y)#, where
- p = press * 3 times
- w = press * 4 times (in the original, on the contrary, w - 3 times, p - 4)
- + = press * 2 times
- MASTERCODE = exactly the thing that was used to lock your device. But to check the status, enter 1234567890
- y = number from 1 to 4

If your phone is locked by an SP (Service Provider) code that is unknown, then try the following:

1. Request must be enabled Pin code;
2. turn on the phone;
3. When asked for a Pin code, press C, then the up or down arrow;
4. press C and hold until the display clears;
5. Now enter the command to change the Pin code, but without changing it;
**04*Pin*Pin*Pin#
This operation must be repeated every time the device is turned on.

Half Rate Codec:
Inclusion:
*4720# - Half Rate will be activated after the phone is overloaded (power consumption is reduced)
Shutdown:
#4720# - Half Rate will be turned off after the phone is overloaded
Enhanced Full Rate mode allows you to get much better sound quality with the same number of bits of transmitted information, but it loads your provider’s network more, and the call time is reduced by about 5%

Half Rate mode degrades sound quality, but unloads the network and allows the provider to pass more calls through it, while the call time increases by about 30%

Security code Information in IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) contains:

XXXXXX XX XXXXXX X
TAC FAC SNR SP

TAC = Type Approval Code (first 2 digits = country code).
FAC = Final Assembly Code (For Nokia FAC=10).
SNR = Serial Number.
SP = Spare (always SP=0).

Positioning

Nokia believes that ultra-low-cost phones will soon occupy half of the global market. And they are trying not to lose the palm in this market to other companies. By consistently releasing inexpensive models, the company introduces new indexes and presents old friends in slightly modified cases, with slightly updated software. The model has undergone such a cosmetic update Nokia 1661, the last numbers were swapped, the cost was reduced, and now we have Nokia 1616. This is the cheapest model with a color screen, its cost, according to the manufacturer, is 24 Euros excluding taxes. But only in developing countries, in other parts of the world, will the device cost more. One of the most impactful offers from Nokia. The most popular model in its segment, which plays one of the first violins on the market.

This is an affordable phone for those looking for just a phone to make calls, but with a color screen and radio. A good device for couriers and similar employees. Also suitable for those who are looking for a durable, reliable phone that they don’t mind losing if necessary.

Design, dimensions, control elements

The model is available in four colors – black, dark blue, dark red and dark grey. All color options have blue plastic side inserts. The materials are inexpensive, but it’s hard to expect anything different in such a cheap device. Back panel has a pattern in the speaker area.

The dimensions of the device (107.1x45x15, weight 78 grams) are small and quite comparable to those of other 1-series phones. The phone fits well in the hand, and due to its small size it easily fits in both a shirt pocket and a trouser pocket.

On the left right side there is a connector for connecting charger, At the bottom there is a microphone hole, as well as a hole for attaching a lanyard/strap.

There is a flashlight at the top end; it is not very bright, but can be turned on either through the menu or by pressing the navigation key up.

The build quality is excellent, there is no play, the device is reliable. The phone has replaceable panels, so the front panel can be easily removed. The panels are not yet sold separately as an accessory, but they may appear. Apparently this was done to facilitate the repair of an inexpensive device.

Display

A distinctive feature of the Nokia 1616 is a fairly large (28x35 mm, 1.8 inches) color display for budget models, made using CSTN technology, having a resolution of 128x160 pixels and capable of displaying up to 65,000 colors. The screen of the device is quite bright, the image on it looks good. The only thing is that in the sun it almost completely goes blind, and the information becomes unreadable, but these are already features of the technology with which it is made. The screen displays up to 5 lines of text and two service lines.

In standby mode, the device displays the time and date, which can be seen without any problems in sufficient lighting.

Keyboard

The keyboard is made of rubber and the manufacturer claims that it is waterproof and also protects from dust. The keys are large and comfortable. It’s a pity that the navigation button is also made of rubber, but does not support click processing. Keyboard ergonomics are average, not the best option. The backlighting of the keys is white, uniform, and clearly visible in various conditions.

Battery

The device comes with a BL-5CB lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 800 mAh. According to the manufacturer, with it the device can work up to 8 hours in talk mode and up to 540 hours in standby mode. In the networks of Moscow operators, the device worked on average for 4 days with 10-15 minutes of conversation per day, about 1 hour of listening to the radio and up to 10 minutes of using other functions. In general, we can say that the operating time of the device, of course, is not a record for a budget product, but on the whole it is quite normal and can satisfy the majority of users of the product. The time to fully charge the battery is about 2 hours.

Menu

This model is built on the S30 platform, compared to Nokia 1661 The icons and menu design have changed a little. Otherwise the models are similar.

The main menu of the device can be presented either as a 3x3 matrix or as a vertical list. Submenus are presented in the form of vertical lists. There is no quick navigation using a digital sequence in the device, but there is a custom “Active” menu, access to which is assigned to the right function key. IN this menu the user can add those items that need quick access; in addition, the list of items can be sorted at their discretion. Pressing the navigation key from standby mode also provides access to four functions, but their value cannot be changed.

When quickly moving through the device's menu, a slight slowdown is noticeable, which in general is not so noticeable when navigating in normal mode. This feature is associated to a greater extent with the use of the CSTN matrix; the software component in in this case practically nothing to do with it.

Localization of the device is done on good level, however, sometimes there are abbreviations, but there is nothing wrong with that. The phone has a T9 predictive text input function for Russian and English.

Phone book. The device's memory can store up to 500 contacts, for each you can record a name, up to 3 phone numbers with the ability to select the type of number, in addition, one of the numbers can be selected as the main one. In addition, it is possible to assign one of the simple preset pictures to a contact, which will be displayed on the screen during an incoming and outgoing call. Searching in the phone book is carried out by first letters. In the settings, you can enable the display of contacts, both the name and the name and main number, and if a picture is assigned to the name, it will be displayed in any case. The general list of contacts displays numbers from both the phone memory and the SIM card memory; for each of them, a corresponding icon is displayed in the top service line.

The phone also has a speed dial for 8 numbers, as well as a number filter; contacts entered into it will not be able to call you.

In addition, as in the case of the previous Nokia 1200 model, the device has a multi-book. This function divides the total memory of the device into five ( maximum amount) virtual phone books. That is, if people use the device one at a time, which is important for developing countries, then we can say that each of them will have their own separate phone book in one device. At the same time, in the settings for individual contacts you can set general access, then they will be displayed in each of the virtual books; this feature, for example, is useful for a home phone number, because there is no point in recording it several times if the phone is used within the same family.

Messages. The device only supports working with conventional text messages, it does not support either EMS or, of course, MMS. The phone understands stitched messages; when dialing, you can enter a maximum of 918 characters. You can insert emoticons into a message, which, however, are not converted into graphic icons; in addition, you can insert a template. It is also possible to quickly insert a number from the phone book into the body of the message. There is a multi-messaging function, but to use it, you must first create a mailing list to which you can add a maximum of ten numbers.

The text of incoming messages can be used as reminders in the calendar; in addition, the sender’s number can be added to the number filter, then not only will they not be able to call you from this number, but also incoming messages will be stored in a separate folder and not in a public folder.

In addition, the phone has a chat function, where all messages from the selected user, as well as your messages, will be displayed on one screen.

The device can also work with graphic messages in the Nokia Smart Messaging format; 30 graphic messages are preinstalled in the phone’s memory.

Calls. Standard lists of incoming, outgoing and missed calls, each of which can store up to 30 numbers. Identical numbers are combined, in the general list you see only when the last call was made to the selected number, but in detailed information You can also view information about earlier calls to this number. It is worth saying that the numbers are not displayed in a list, but one at a time on the screen, which is a little confusing.

There is also a counter for the duration of calls, separately for incoming and outgoing calls, as well as the total time of all calls. In addition, in this section you can find a message counter, which can also be found in the “Messages” section.

Settings. Here you can set up call signals, namely select a ringtone, adjust its volume, turn on or off vibration alerts, as well as light indication (the display will turn on and off in the tone of the melody). In addition, the device has six profiles that can be configured at your own discretion. You can quickly select a profile by pressing the end call key from standby mode.

For the display, you can choose one of the preset themes, which can be assigned to one of the sound profiles, or you can choose to display it constantly in all modes. It is also possible to customize the color scheme. Here you can also turn on the display screensaver for standby mode, which can look like a digital or analog clock. It is possible to install a graphical animated screensaver, but it is worth remembering that, of course, they are beautiful, but with them the device’s battery will run out much faster.

It is worth noting the “Mobile Payphone” function, which allows you to enter a call time limit before each outgoing call, after which it will be ended. This function will be useful, for example, while roaming. There are also other settings related to the phone and network.

Watch. The device has only one alarm clock; it can be set to go off once or to work on selected days of the week.

From its predecessor, the Nokia 1600, in this model The function of a talking clock has also been transferred, when the current time is spoken in a female voice.

Games. The phone has three pre-installed games: Boubce (arcade), Forbidden Treasures (adventure) and Snake Xenzia (the well-known Snake game).

Additional functions. This section contains a simple calculator, a unit converter combined with a currency converter, a timer and a stopwatch. There is also a melody synthesizer here, which allows you to create five of your own melodies. In the “Demo” section you can familiarize yourself with the basic capabilities of the phone. Also in this section the calendar function is duplicated, and here you can turn on the flashlight.

The last feature is the most interesting, it is called “Accounting” and allows you to record your current expenses, daily or monthly. In addition to existing expense items, for example, “Products” or “Transport,” the user has the right to create his own.

Radio. The FM radio in the device only works when a wired headset is connected, the wire of which is an antenna. The quality of radio reception is good, most stations are picked up and played back without interference, at least within the city. The sound can be played either through the headset or through the device's speaker.

The device has both manual and auto-tuning. The number of saved radio stations cannot exceed ten, and a name can be recorded for each station. The radio can also work in background, in this case, the main screen will display the cell number, as well as the frequency of the radio station or its name (if it is recorded). Switching between saved radio stations is carried out not only through the device menu, but also by pressing the answer key on the headset.

In addition, the radio can also be used as an alarm signal, but we must remember that in this case a headset must be connected.

Impression

The communication quality of the device is at the level of modern GSM devices, neither better nor worse than most of them. In some cases, the speaker volume is not enough; I would like to increase the volume a little more, but, unfortunately, there is no more reserve. But there are no complaints about the sensitivity of the microphone; the interlocutor almost always hears you well. The device has 32-tone polyphony, the volume of the call signal is average, and the sound of the preset melodies is quite acceptable. The phone does not have the ability to set your own ringtones, well, except for the five that you can create in the Ringtones Synthesizer. The vibration alert is average in strength, sometimes you may not even feel it.

The device has a speakerphone function, it works without any problems.

The stated retail price of 24 Euros turns into 1,490 rubles in Russia, which is exactly the price you can find this model at. This price is equal to the cost Nokia 1661 and the models are actually the same, the only benefit of the updated device is the keyboard, it’s nicer. If you look at competing solutions, there is only one model - Samsung E1125, but it is inferior in screen resolution, although in all other respects it is quite comparable to the solution from Nokia. Considering that such models are bought without studying websites and descriptions for a long time, both devices are sold in huge quantities, in fact we can say that there is a constant shortage of them. In this aspect Nokia 1616 successful model from her first days life cycle. It has no problems, it's reliable, it's inexpensive, and it's Nokia. A bestseller that we are not ashamed to recommend as a cheap phone with a color screen for calls. An excellent solution in its class.

3. Press the power button

#3370# - resets the sound quality to normal (cancels the *3370# code).
EFR CODEC (Enhanced Full Rate)
This feature, when enabled, should, in theory, significantly improve the quality of transmitted speech, but, unfortunately, it must be supported by the cellular operator.

Ask a question about secret codes on Nokia 1616

What I didn't like

The sound is loud, but frankly disgusting, audibility in the speaker is good, but for some reason from the back of the phone. People around you can hear all conversations very well. During the day, the display is not visible at all, the phone mute button is very inconvenient, it’s also called call mute; every time you end a call, the phone prompts you to turn it off. It is inconvenient to remove the SIM card. The keyboard is not very comfortable. Creaky body.

What I liked

Price and perhaps the presence of a flashlight.

What I didn't like

the conversation can be heard by everyone, as if you are talking on a speakerphone, half of the numbers are not detected, the soft keyboard is very bad, the flashlight is useless

What I liked

there is no such

What I didn't like

You can't hear anything at all through the standard speaker, but you can listen through the hole on the back of the case... you can hear it a little better... everyone I talked to told me not to scream like crazy...
The SIM card “loses” several times a day, I had to constantly reload it
the buttons are pressed poorly, and not the right ones... pressing “end call” twice turns it off (and sometimes one is not enough to end the conversation)

What I liked

lightweight color display flashlight

What I didn't like

Loses SIM card mostly Megafonovskaya

What I liked

Bright flashlight Long battery life Good radio reception Any headphones will work

What I didn't like

It often reboots during a conversation, poor connection quality, the network often disappears, the battery quickly fails.

What I liked

Cheap price, flashlight, radio.

What I didn't like

It feels like it’s made of plastic, as if it’s empty. The battery doesn’t sit securely, something rattles inside. Well, it’s inconvenient that it’s small, holding it in your hand when calling

What I liked

loud sound, a lot of themes, a lot of music for calls and SMS. And the external speaker does not interfere, no one can hear anything.

What I didn't like

No separate power button.
- When pressed twice, "reset" is displayed unnecessary menu modes.
- In the summer, I often “lost” my Sim (possibly due to constant rearrangements and/or heat).
- The buttons are noisy, they quack unpleasantly when pressed.

What I liked

Comfortable case, decent speakers. A good choice design themes, quite a rich T9 vocabulary. The buttons do not stick, they do not press themselves even without locking. The flashlight is bright. The charge lasts up to a week, the message memory is huge. There is an automatic check and time setting. They write that when talking, everyone around you can hear everything - I haven’t encountered it, everything works correctly if the volume is not turned up to maximum.

What I didn't like

1. Stiff keys. 2.Inconvenient navigation key. 3.The back cover is scratched. 4.The screen gets scratched all the time. 5.The center key is inactive. 6.After six months it began to fail, and then<<Мячик>> began to freeze and had to reboot. 7.You can’t customize the menu for yourself. 8. Creaks. 9. Hole for lace at the bottom. 10.The back cover of the opener is abnormal. ATTENTION!!!If you don’t want problems, then buy a normal phone for yourself, not this one.

What I liked

1.Radio. 2. Flashlight. 3.Pictures. 4.Good games.That's all

What I didn't like

I'm tired of the fact that it turns off when you press red - ok, the first time you press the profile selection line opens, press ok, the top line is selected - turn off
This was invented by some “not smart person”, who needs to change profiles so often to put this on the call reset key? I turn off my phone 10 times a day
The quality of the speakers is simply terrible, you can’t hear your interlocutor on the subway 99%

What I liked

cheap there is a flashlight it works no problem the buttons are convenient t9 convenient locking convenient lasts a long time

What I didn't like

It scratches very badly, the screen glass quickly becomes cloudy, as has already been said hundreds of times - the earpiece is simply ugly, the keyboard is inconvenient, the flashlight could be brighter

What I liked

Price, simplicity, good network reception, very good radio reception, flashlight

What I didn't like

After two or three minutes of conversation, the cellular network signal is interrupted

What I liked

Neat, nothing superfluous

What I didn't like

1. Loses the network. Constantly!!!
2. The phone book does not store more than one number per subscriber, and the subscriber’s name is limited by the number of characters.
3. In order to understand who is calling, you need to rewrite all the numbers in the phone book in the format +7...., because He doesn’t understand anything that starts with the number 8.
4. speakerphone = normal. Why was it made?
5. The conversation can be heard by others.

What I liked

There is none of them. It's not even worth the three kopecks it costs.

What I liked

Availability of a 3.5 flashlight, headphone output, small size, reasonable price, dust-proof keyboard

What I didn't like

All the rest. It creaks, the screen goes completely blind in any little bit of street lighting (it would be better if they put it in black and white), the sound is nasty, rattling when calling and cloyingly muffled in a conversation, due to the fact that the speaker is located at the back, the conversation is heard by people standing nearby. The ergonomics are terrible, the keys are not separated and are pressed two or three at once. S30 for 128*160 slows down.
