Not long ago, Beltelecom began installing Huawei hg532e modems for its users. Judging by numerous reviews, these modems work much faster and keep a connection much better than the earlier version of the Promsvyaz 200a modem.
The Wi-Fi antenna is located inside the device, and the white and neat design is pleasing to the eye. Let's move on to the most important thing, let's configure the Huawei hg532e router into mode, and at the same time set up the wireless Internet.
Launch Internet Explorer and enter 192.168.1.1 in the address bar
A window opens, write your username and password admin - admin then click Login
In this window, click on the tab Basic after WAN and click on INTERNET_B_ATM_0_33

Now let's set up Wi-Fi.
Go to the tab WLAN and write in the line SSID name of the Wi-Fi network. Turn on SSID - Enable. In line WPA pre-shared key add your password to connect to the modem (from 8 characters). Don't forget to save the settings. We leave through Submit.

I received this modem from a client who bought himself a new one to replace this old one, but it was quite working. For a long time I thought about where to mount it and decided to set it to bridge mode. I will now explain to you how to do this and what is needed for this.
First, you need to download the firmware from MTS, since the standard version cannot enable bridge mode. I think it won’t be difficult for you to do this and I won’t describe it.

After flashing the firmware, go to the LAN settings and change the ip to 192.168.1.2 if this is your 2nd router or modem on your network. In my case, it is my 3rd.
Now select SSID2 from the drop-down list. I called it config, through which we will configure the modem. We give him the password and click “OK”.
Now go to “Advanced” and “Snap to Bridge”. Give the group a name and tick everything as in the picture. Now I will explain what this means.
We did not mark LAN1 as it will be used to connect to another router.
We marked LAN2, LAN3, LAN4 and this means that these interfaces will be used in bridge mode and you can connect a PC to them and have Internet on it.
We noted SSID1 (MKONNE!) because it is our main Wi-fi. There will be Internet on it, but we will not be able to go into the modem settings if we want to change something there (for example, the Wi-fi password)
SSID2 (config) was not noted because we do not need Internet there. We will connect to it to change the settings in the modem itself, since this will not be possible through the main one.
SSID3 and 4 are not used.
Now our modem seems to be gone, DHCP will be picked up from the main router, to which it must be connected via cable.
The HG532E router from Huawei, due to its optimal cost-performance ratio, has become widely used by the following three largest telecom operators: Rostelecom, ByFly and UkrTelecom. The modem managed to pass long-term tests of real use by a large army of subscribers of the above providers and has adequately proven itself to be a reliable and easy-to-use device. Having completed the preliminary steps to connect the HG532E router, configuration with the required parameters is entered through the interface. You will need to complete several sequential steps:

In order to manually adjust the configuration parameters, you need to open the “Basic” tab in the main interface menu and then go to the “WAN” tab. Here you can create a new connection, you will need to enter the following parameters:
- In the connection type column, indicate “PPPoE”;
- Username and password specified in the contract with the provider;
- It is recommended to specify “always on” in the “connection trigger” line.
The remaining sections can be left as default.

- In the “List of Services” section, indicate “Other”;
- In the connection type column, indicate “Brigde”;

Before setting up the Huawei HG532e ADSL modem We check the correct connection of the network cable, the functionality of the computer’s network card and this modem. It will not be superfluous to quickly check for viruses using this program. You can disable existing firewalls (firewalls) during setup, including Windows Firewall: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Firewall\Customize Settings. Open the browser Chrome, Opera, FireFox, preferably not Internet Explorer 10, since it “refused” to correctly display the interface of this modem. In the address bar of the browser, enter the IP address of the Huawei Home Gateway HG532e modem - this is 192.168.1.1.
To make sure that the Huawei HG532e modem is still located at 192.168.1.1, it is recommended to ping the device.
Type WIN+R, then in the Open line: ping 192.168.1.1 -t then Enter. If the modem address is correct, packet exchange will begin: Response from 192.168.1.1 number of bytes and response time, TTL.
If any settings have been made before (a password has been set for the entrance, the IP address of the modem has been changed), it is better to restore the device to the factory settings. This can be done by holding down the reset button on the modem near the power cord for 3-5 seconds.
In the browser, upon successful login attempt, we receive a message prompting you to enter your username and password.
In the Username field enter admin, in the Password field - admin.
We get to the next menu.
Go to the Basic tab.
Click on the Internet_B_0_33 panel.

Here you need to change the value of Connection Type: brige to Connection Type: PPPoE.
The menu will change its appearance and become more detailed.
In this menu, you must enter the Username and Password values taken from the agreement with ByFly. This is your unique password and login. Check that these values are filled in correctly; any mistake will result in the inability to access the Internet.
Click the Submit button in the lower right corner of the menu, thereby saving the settings of the Huawei Home Gateway HG532e modem for accessing the Internet via a network cable. The main indicator is POWER. Thanks to him, we know whether it works at all. If it does not light up, there may be several reasons - lack of voltage in the network, the power supply is not connected, or the ON/OFF button on the side wall of the device is not turned on.
Next comes the INTERNET indicator. If it is on, then your Huawei hg532e is working in router mode and no data is transferred. If it blinks, then data is being transmitted. If there is no light indication, the modem may be operating in bridge mode, or the connection may not be active. ADSL can report whether the device is in activation mode or whether activation has already occurred. This is indicated by the blinking or lighting of the indicator, respectively.
The next indicator is WLAN. It is responsible for providing information about the wireless mode. If it is on, the wireless connection is enabled and no data is being transmitted over the WLAN. If blinking, the connection is still active and data is being transferred. If it is not lit, then wireless data transmission is disabled.

First, you need to connect the wire to the telephone socket, and then plug it into the splitter, LINE socket. In the Basic tab, you can make settings for both wired and wireless networks. For a wired network, usually no settings need to be made - Huawei hg532e is configured to work by default. As for Wi-Fi, sometimes you need to make settings so that Huawei hg532e works in router mode. If you do everything correctly, you can use the modem as a router even when the computer is turned off. There is no need to perform any complex actions, because as mentioned earlier, the modem is fully configured, but if it does not want to work like that, then you need to perform a simple configuration.

Once you enter the Huawei hg532e configuration menu, you need to select the Basic-WAN menu.

In the menu that opens, you need to check whether the required parameters are specified correctly. In the PVC line, you must select Internet_TR069 and make sure that the VPI value = 1 and VCI = 40. The Connection Type must be selected as iPoE. If you did everything correctly, then you need to click Submit. After pressing this button, you may need to reboot the modem.
Changing login and/or password
In order to protect your modem, you can change your login and password.

There is nothing complicated here either. To perform this action, you need to select the Maintenance-Account menu. In the dialog box you will be able to see the line User name, Current password, New password and Confirm password. By default, User name is admin. If you do not want to change your login, but only your password, then in the Current password line you must enter the initially set password - admin, in the New password line enter a new password, and then confirm it in the Confirm password line.
If you want to change your login, then in the User name line you need to select user.
It happens that your colleagues or children can perform the configuration instead of you, while changing the login and password. If this situation happens to you, then you can return the settings to the default ones. To do this, press RESET on the back wall of the modem for 4-6 seconds. The modem will reboot, installing the factory configuration.
