Next program, without which you will not be able to experience all the sweetness of jailbreak, will certainly become iFile. As the name suggests, the program allows you to work with various files on your apple device. In fact, the utility has much more functionality.

As we have reported in previous reviews, the jailbreak procedure opens the file system on the device, so you can special applications see the inside of the apple device. For example, utilities will help you with this iFunBox and iTools(the second supports the Russian language, both are distributed free of charge in the public domain). The entire system consists of several root folders ( the most basic one is var), now you can familiarize yourself with the main paths where the main documents are stored.

Applications: var/mobile/Applications(games and programs have unique codes instead of names, but through iFile you can configure the display of their real names)

Books ( iBooks): var/mobile/media/Books

Settings: var/mobile/library/Preferences

Media library: var/mobile/media/iTunes_control/Music

In every application along the way var/mobile/Applications/application name/Documents Data and saves are stored that can be imported via iTools, but more on that next time.

In some ways, iFile resembles a regular organizer, because most files can be opened through applications installed on a tablet or smartphone from App Store , that is, the document will open in Pages, film - in AVPlayer, photo - in Photoshop and so on.

So, inside the application there are also built-in programs for working with various files. Let's try to list all the functions iFile: image viewer, audio and video player, text and plist file editor (most often used to store settings), web browser, PDF-reader and archiver. Forgot to mention that iFile supports Russian language.

If you have hacked your device, you can use it as a removable drive to store information, especially with the program iFile You will have the opportunity to edit and work with them. The multifunctional utility works stably and does not affect the device’s battery.

Of course, such opportunities cost money - the program “ iFile" costs $4 , and is located in the repository BigBoss, but in the repo Insanelyi, from which you can also download, the development is available for free download. The utility itself takes up only 16 Megabytes and, of course, belongs to the category Must-HAVE programs from .

iFile is one of the most simple managers files for Apple devices. It makes it possible to manage data almost as comfortably as it is implemented in the operating room Android system. The start screen will greet you with six large sections: “All files”, “Images”, “Videos”, “Music”, “Documents” and “Other”. In each of them you can freely move, copy and rename files. Distinctive feature What sets this manager apart from other similar solutions is that it independently detects absolutely all files on a portable device, including Apple iWork documents, saved HTML, and even web archives. Not only that, right out of the box, iFile integrates with Safari Download Manager and the corresponding browser extension, AttachmentSaver.

In addition to local files, this manager can also work with those stored in the cloud. To do this, just link your accounts in one of the supported cloud services (Google Drive, SugarSync, Dropbox). Also featured file manager supports WebDAV. Files that are not in the device memory are marked with special icons.

As you can see, we have a very convenient and functional program, which, moreover, is distributed completely free of charge.

There are two types of installation files on iPhone/iPad - DEB and IPA. IPA are game files and different programs from iTunes AppStore. They are installed and downloaded in one click, and such files can also be found and downloaded on the Internet.

DEB Installation Features

DEB - installation packages for tweaks and programs that can be downloaded from Cydia. If you download DEB files from Cydia, you will no longer see them; these files will be deleted immediately after installing the program. But if you downloaded the DEB package on the Internet, then you will need manual installation. How to install DEB on iPad or iPhone? The following four installation options will be described.

First way

How to install DEB on iPhone? The first method is installation via a terminal. This is one of the most difficult options. A terminal must be installed on your phone - either MobileTerminal from Cydia or, alternatively, configured access to the iPhone from a computer. You need to copy the .deb file to your phone (/var/mobile). Next, you need to enter the following in it (the characters will not appear while typing, no problem): su root alpine dpkg -i file_name.deb. After each written line, press Enter. If the file is not installed, the terminal will notify you about this.

Second way

How to install DEB package on iPhone or iPad? The second method is to install via Cydia (if you have access to files via USB). You need to copy the DEB file to the following location: /var/root/media/Cydia/AutoInstall. If some folders are missing, then create them manually. Next, restart your phone. After starting the device, Cydia will install all the files automatically.

Third way

How to install DEB? Method three is through Cider (requires Cydia on the device). Launch Cider on your computer (don't forget to connect your phone to the computer first); when you first launch the program, it creates all the required folders and files. In the Archives folder, copy the necessary DEB files. Then run Cider so that the program can see the files. Our DEB packages will be displayed on the "Synchronization" tab; you need to choose where to copy them - to the Cydia cache or to the AutoInstall folder. Cydia cache: after you have copied the file, you need to launch Cydia and select the program you want to install in the search, then run the installation, and it will be installed immediately without downloading from the Internet. AutoInstall folder: you need to copy the file, restart your iPhone or iPad, and the program will be installed automatically during the reboot.

Fourth method

How to install DEB files? Method four - installation via the iFile program. this work carried out on the phone or tablet itself. First, you need to install the required iFile program on your device from Cydia. The next step is to download the DEB file to your phone or tablet. You can move the file using any method known and available to you. Move the file to any folder. After copying, open the DEB file and click the Install button. Wait for the program installation to finish.

After installation, if necessary, you can reboot your device. The answers to the question of how to install DEB files were given above. Follow the instructions and you will succeed!

Sometimes you come across a situation where interesting utilities are only available in the form DEB package. There are several ways to install DEB; which one to use is up to everyone to choose for themselves.

Theory:
There are two types of programs on iPhone/iPod/iPad - .IPA or .DEB

IPA are programs and games downloaded from the iTunes AppStore. They download and install themselves, in one click (this is Apple :)), but they can also be found on the Internet.
DEBs are installation packages for programs and tweaks that can be downloaded from Cydia. Cydia is an installer alternative applications, which appears after jailbreak. When downloading programs from Cydia, you usually won’t even see DEB files - they are deleted immediately after installation. But if you downloaded the DEB file not from Cydia, but somewhere on the Internet, you will not find an obvious way to install such a file. Therefore, 4 ways to install them are described below.

Method #1: Through Terminal(the most difficult).

  • You must have a terminal installed - either MobileTerminal from Cydia, or configured access to the iPhone from a computer using the SSH protocol
  • copy .deb to the phone ( /var/mobile);
  • enter the commands in the terminal

    su root
    alpine (when typing this word, letters will not appear on the screen, this is normal)
    dpkg -i filename.deb

    How to install the terminal?

    2. Search “Mobile Terminal”

    3. Install “Mobile Terminal”

    4. Install “OpenSSH” from Cydia

    5. Start “MobileTerminal”

    6. Type commands as given below:

    • su(press return)
    • alpine(press return) (typed password would be invisible)
    • dpkg -i nameofpackage.deb(press return, exchange "nameofpackage" with name of .deb file Lockinfo)

    Reboot your device

    Method #2: Through Cydia(if you have access to the file system via cord)

    • copy.deb to phone at /var/root/media/Cydia/AutoInstall(if you don’t have the last two folders, create them);
    • reboot the phone (respring is not good, you need a full reboot);
    • when you start the phone, Cydia will install all the deb files that are in this folder;
    • If, after the reboot is completed, the AutoInstall folder is empty, then everything was successful.
    • if the application icons still do not appear, then launch Cydia and install all the additional packages that it asks for). If it’s not empty, most likely you made a mistake and created the Autoinstall folder in the wrong place :) or try it with a terminal, you’ll find out exactly what the error is.

    Method #3: Through Cider(elementary, but you need Cydia on the device)

    • You launch Cider on your computer (with an iPhone connected via a cord), and when you first launch it, it will create all its folders on the computer.
    • In the Archives folder that will be created, copy the necessary .debs, launch Cider again so that it sees them
    • On the “Synchronization” tab, we see our packages in the list, and here you can choose where they can be copied to the iPhone - to the Cydia cache or to the AutoInstall folder (the folder must first be created, see method No. 2). It depends on who, if one method doesn’t work, the second will work.
    • Cydia cache - this means that after copying you need to launch Cydia, select the program you want to install in the search, and run the installation - it will be installed immediately, without downloading from the Internet;
    • AutoInstall is the same as in method No. 2 - after copying, you need to restart the iPhone, and the program will install itself during this reboot, you don’t have to do anything with your hands.

    Method #4: Via iFile(on the phone itself).

    • Requirement: You must first install latest version iFile applications from Cydia, BigBoss repository
    • Download your deb file to your phone in any way available to you and put it in any folder available to you
    • Open iFile on your phone, go to the folder where you put the deb
    • Open the deb and click on the Install button that appears
    • Profit! If necessary, reboot your phone.
