Barcode check from 12 digits. Regional codes for national GS1 organizations. Barcode - manual decryption.

Check barcode in our not very honest world, it is a necessary attribute of a way of life. Using this program, you can identify a fake, and, at a minimum, require a discount on the product that you are going to buy.

Another advantage of the program is the definition of the country of origin. Why buy a product that is claimed to be produced in Europe and is actually a typical Chinese consumer product?

The digital code can be composed of up to 14 characters, which are just numbers. Situations in which it is most used: in boxes with more than one product inside to serve sound signal when the reader reports the number of units containing the box.

It consists of rectangular or square patterns, thus forming text and raw data encoding. Information can be up to 2 kilobytes. Situations where it is most used: It can be read by the camera cell phone, it is widely used in magazines, brochures, billboards and airline tickets.

Enter numbers in the field and click Check barcode

Yes, yes, don't be surprised. Each product has its own officially registered number, which is printed on the label in the form of black and white stripes. At the bottom there is a row of numbers. This is the barcode. These white and black stripes with numbers or a barcode can tell a lot about a product and its manufacturer.

The process is very simple and straightforward, just check the number of variations of your products and based on this, select a code variant in the trading section of our website. Once you have chosen the option that suits you best, simply fill in the requested details and make a payment. After payment, the codes are sent no more than 24 hours, which is useful for your Email... Just take it from the diagram that will be printed on the product packaging or as an adhesive to be inserted into the product packaging.

How are barcodes used? They will have to manually enter their product information into their system. Then, every time your barcode is scanned for a withdrawal, your personal Account will be credited to the sale. The barcode just connects to each other. You need a barcode for each size, flavor, color, or different variation of the product you intend to sell. So if, for example, you sell green and yellow pillows in 2 different sizes, you will need 4 different barcodes.

When making a purchase, it will probably not be superfluous to determine the authenticity of the barcode, which means the country where the product was produced, and also to check whether there is a manufacturing company whose name is indicated on the label and whether this product is officially registered.

The most common barcodes are the 13-bit European Article Numbering (EAN-13) and the fully compliant 12-bit UPC used in the United States and Canada.

This means that the retailer can accurately track the sales data for each of the 4 products and respond accordingly. Therefore, if the small green pillow sells faster than others, they can order more units of this product according to the requirement.

Will my barcodes match any product? These must be purchased separately. However, if you happen to make an audiobook, look for us! Will my barcode work outside of Brazil? Why do barcodes have so many lines? The lines you see in barcodes are actually the font that translates to the numbers you read below. This is why, when the barcode is damaged, the person enters numbers in the field to get the same result.

To verify the authenticity of the product barcode (except for books), enter all 13 digits located on the sides and bottom.

If your product has 12 digits on the barcode, then enter only 12 digits.

Enter numbers in the field and click the Check button. If the barcode is genuine, you will receive a message highlighted in green, "The barcode is genuine!" and below - information about the country of origin of the goods.

Will a barcode purchased from Brazilian codes be owned exclusively by me? Once your barcode is purchased, you will be the only person who can use it. We guarantee that your barcode has never been used before and only belongs to you.

Is it possible that one day my code will expire? When you buy a barcode from us, it will be yours forever and no one can register the same code for any other product. Is there a renewal fee? No, the cost of your purchase will be one.

Are barcodes available in Brazil? Yes, we provide both codes. We provide both versions depending on your order so that you can use the barcode anywhere in the world. As long as you print a print quality barcode above 300dpi and use the recommended sizes on our page, it can be scanned. To help, we offer our customers matching models to help you select the correct dimensions for your barcode.

If, after checking the barcode, a message appears, highlighted in red, “The barcode is not genuine!”, We advise you to count the quantity again and check the numbers entered in the field with the barcode on the product label. If the error persists, then you are out of luck.

NOTE: It is not uncommon for a product to see an inscription, for example, "Made in Germany", but the barcode does not correspond to that country.

Is there anything else I need to do after receiving the barcode? No, just bring your barcode number with you as soon as you register your product with a retailer. The codes can be used on the same day. Just print them on a graphic and place them on your products.

Yes, but it is very important that there is always high degree contrast between barcode and background. If you buy directly from them, you will have to pay a very large amount of registration fees and annual renewals, as well as a huge paperwork bureaucracy. This would be appropriate if you were a large company with hundreds of products and a few secretaries who can do it all for you. But what if you only need a small number of barcodes? We got rid of the purchase of a small number of barcodes.

There may be several reasons:

  1. the company was registered and received a barcode not in its own country, but in the one where the main export of its products was directed;
  2. the product was manufactured at a subsidiary;
  3. perhaps the product was manufactured in one country, but under the license of a firm from another country;
  4. when several firms from different countries become founders of an enterprise.

Barcode decoding

Therefore, we are perfectly suited to the needs of small and medium-sized businesses. Due to the nature of the product, we are sorry that we are unable to offer refunds on purchases. Once a consumer receives their barcodes from our database, they are immediately valid to ensure duplication does not occur. If we accept a return or refund, we cannot guarantee that the barcode is already in use, so we do not accept returns.

What sizes should I use for my barcode? Unless you modify the barcode image we sent you and print at a resolution of at least 300dpi, they will scan without any problem. But for those who want to change the images, follow these steps.

  • The first two digits indicate the country of origin (seller or manufacturer).
  • Using the next five - you can determine the manufacturer.
  • The following five numbers are used to indicate the name of the product, its consumer properties, size, weight, color.
  • At the end of the code there is a check digit that determines the correctness of the barcode reading by the scanner.

Check digit validation

It is best to consider this with an example: take the cheapest Nokia phone and look at the barcode on the box: 00 01 00 02 44 35 7.

The minimum recommended size is 80% of the standard size. The maximum recommended size is 200% larger than the default size. Width is more important than height because the barcode scanner needs to be able to easily distinguish vertical stripes in the image. To find out more about this subject, refer to the page.

Why are my numbers out of order? In fact, their number is, yes, in sequence. The last digit of each barcode is called the "check digit" and is calculated using a formula that ensures that each number is generated only once. If you check the digits that go up to the last digit in the code, you can see that they are ok.

So, as you can see from the table, our code is correct!

Quite often, our printing house prints some kind of product containing a barcode - labels, tags, covers, boxes, etc. Yes, and we all constantly meet the usual stripes around us. Therefore, in this article, we decided to pay close attention to barcodes.

It is used in the banking segment or in applications that do not require the use of letters or other symbols. Default 39 - Used to encode alphanumeric characters and has no limit on the number of characters that must be encoded. Standard 39 Check Digit - Used with a check digit to provide more control and safety in the process. Standard 49 is micro-characters that allow information to be encoded in a reduced space. Allowing for the encoding of thousands of characters in a few square centimeters, this symbology is very suitable for use, for example, in invoice coding.

Story

In the form we are accustomed to, the barcode was first developed and introduced in 1973-1974 in the United States. Although the idea had been in the air since 1948, it did not have a sufficient technical base. In many ways, the barcode itself is a descendant of the well-known Morse code, in which, in fact, dots and dashes were stretched vertically.

The first barcoding system was called UPC and contained 12 digits. It turned out to be extremely convenient and widely used in the United States. However, during its creation, the interests of other countries of the world, of course, were not taken into account. Therefore, for use in Europe, an improved EAN-13 code was developed which, on the one hand, is almost completely compatible with UPC codes, and on the other hand, it made it possible to create a single barcode space for almost all countries of the world.

Standard 128 - Allows up to 106 characters, occupying a smaller print area than the standard. This symbolism has been adopted as the standard for identifying consumer products. The company code combination must have 9 digits. According to the grid of company positions. Should be interested in understanding the content that the bars represent. even. The optical reader reads and returns the result. 5 digits to identify the manufacturer. Anyone using it has the freedom to place numbers and letters freely.

Other codes. For instance. Category code. Accompany you individually. Free code has the advantage of allowing customization. In addition, there are various combinations of bars. It has 1 digit representing the product category. In turn. characters that have been interpreted by an optical reader. For small packages. creating logic to include all the information you need. product and check digit. And the company has 6 k. This is happening. printing the item into the tax coupon.

Since 2005, the European and American code standardization organizations have merged to form the global standards organization GS1. Now the EAN code has become the de facto global standard in commerce, although the UPC code is very popular in the United States.

Types of barcodes

In addition to the trade itself, many versions of barcodes have been developed that are used in a wide variety of industries. For example, Code 25, Code 39, ITF used in libraries, warehouses and wherever accurate accounting is important. More complex ones are also gaining popularity 2D stroke codes into which much more information can be placed. You can see examples of such codes on tax reports generated electronic systems type 1C.

The main advantage of working with strict international standard is that each product will have its own unique code. European numbering of articles. Color code. Applicable all over the world. 5 digits for product identification and 1 check digit. Appendix. Some codes have standardized content. This allows the integration and exchange of information between various links in the production chain: from the manufacturer to the end consumer.

The next 5 represent the intra-company business position code. Since there is no company code. The same is true for US systems. and was also included in the sample file for this article. Generally. Usually fonts are not free. This article explains the calculation of the check digit and all the code required to generate the tags. You can use the Print event in the details section. Figure 5. However, by selecting the code control, you can use the same component. The second parameter refers to the current report.

And the EAN barcode itself has several options:

EAN Code Fields

Let's take a closer look at the structure of the EAN-13 code, which is actually the world standard in trade today. From the point of view of product coding, the EAN-13 code can be conditionally divided into 5 zones:

  • 3 digits: GS1 national organization prefix These numbers represent the Regional Office Code of the GS1 Association (Registrar) with which the product manufacturer is registered. Thus, they do not denote the country of the manufacturer, but the country of the registrar, which is often not the same thing. Although the majority of enterprises are registered in the representative office of the association of their country. That is, the product can be produced, for example, in China, but a Chinese company, it is perfectly legal to register codes for itself in our national organization GS1, and produce products with a barcode starting with 460-469. And vice versa, the product may be released in Russia, and the code may not be Russian. But still, most often, the code of the country where the given product is released is actually found as a regional code.
Codes 200 through 299 are reserved for internal use by organizations and do not require registration. Any enterprise in any region of the world, as well as individuals, can use them as they like, at their discretion, but exclusively for their internal purposes. The use of these codes outside the enterprise is prohibited.
  • 4-6 digits: registration number of the manufacturer of the product The second logical group of numbers is the company code of the manufacturer or seller of the goods. It usually takes 4-6 digits, but the exact length of this field depends on the policy of the regional office. If the length of this field is longer, then more businesses can be registered, but at the same time, each business is given the opportunity to register a smaller quantity of goods. Earlier, the Russian representative office allocated 4 digits as the code of the enterprise, and then, for the coding of goods, the enterprise had the ability to register one hundred thousand units of goods. But in recent years, the representative office has decided to allocate 6 digits for the enterprise code and 3 digits for the product code for newly registered enterprises, due to the fact that most enterprises produce less than 1000 items of goods, and this would be a wiser step towards a more economical spending codes.
  • 3-5 digits: product code The remaining 3-5 digits are allocated to code the product itself. The specific value of the field depends on the permission issued by the registrar. This field does not bear a special semantic meaning and the enterprise is free to number its products as it is convenient for it.
  • 1 digit: check digit The last digit is a check digit used to check that the scanner reads the strokes correctly.
  • additional field (optional barcode field, sometimes a ">" sign is put there).

EAN-13 Barcode Numeric Codes

To display the digits in the EAN barcode, a reliable system is used that has high security against failures. This has been confirmed by many years successful use in trade since the days when Computer techologies were at the beginning of their journey.

Remembering to customize the name of the control in the code line of the Print Event section: I. The result is displayed in the figure As in this code, the characters are not displayed in a human readable format. Follow the same steps as above. But. It is recommended that you leave the text box with the product code visible. The equipment is connected to the serial port of the microcontroller. Bars and images on the label. NOTE.

To save the text. Used to issue airport labels attached to suitcases. Such a code. In addition to making it easier to identify items at the point of sale. All items will be identified. Thus, you "run away" from failure and greatly increase the life of the part. Always try to start printing in one of the corners.

The first digit of the barcode has a special idea of which is just below. The remaining 12 digits are divided into 2 groups, 6 in each - left and right. Groups of numbers are bordered by so-called protective, or enclosing bar patterns. These templates contain single-width strokes that synchronize the barcode scanner. The left and right security templates consist of 3 single-width strokes - two dark and one light between them. The middle security template consists of 5 strokes - three light and two dark. Everything else is numbers. In the figure on the right, stroke patterns are shown in orange. It can also be seen that the same space is allocated for each number.

That have been paid for. cotton. etc. after several thousand printed labels. linen. "B." Situation 1: Imagine a video vault that wants to control items that are being rented. Take it to the nearest service center... Connecting the two parts. Sometimes one minute of explanation can save you time wasted in the future. the system will good tool management. Another very common problem at the checkout: an employee sees two identical packages. Many foods are stored in any corner.

But make it clear that for commercial use, the third party component is almost always the best option... As far as you need to know where to look for information, a number or another symbol depending on the pattern of the code in question. Separators serve to indicate the end of the code and tell the reader the meaning of reading the code. It consists of a dark piece of code. It consists of a clear piece of code. Basic Concepts To understand how barcode information is encoded, it is important to have the following concepts. This tab also allows you to read code in both directions.

Different codes are used for the same digits on the left (L) and right (R) parts of the code. But this is not all, as for the digits on the left side an additional code (G) is used, which depends on the first digit of the barcode. This somewhat confusing system is explained by the fact that the 13-digit EAN-13 code is a descendant of the American 12-digit UPC barcode. To achieve full compatibility new system with the old one, the first digit is hidden in the encoding of other digits and does not have its own field. That is why it is taken out of the first stroke of the template. Look at the dependence of the code used on the first digit:

First digit Digits 2 to 7 Digits 8 to 13
0 LLLLLL RRRRRR
1 LLGLGG RRRRRR
2 LLGGLG RRRRRR
3 LLGGGL RRRRRR
4 LGLLGG RRRRRR
5 LGGLLG RRRRRR
6 LGGGLL RRRRRR
7 LGLGLG RRRRRR
8 LGLGGL RRRRRR
9 LGGLGL RRRRRR

As you can see, if the first digit is 0, then only L or R codes are used, which in their pure form repeat the encoding of the American old man UPC. Thus, adding 0 to the left of the American product labeling, we get the EAN-13 code used in the rest of the world.

Each digit of the left or right group is coded using four strokes: two light and two dark. Each stroke can have a relative width of one, two, three, or four units. Overall width dashes for one digit are always seven units. ... The total width of the entire code is always 95 units. Any code has 29 light and 30 dark strokes.

Now let's turn to the actual composition of the L, G and R codes. The following table shows the numbers in the corresponding coding. Each zira consists of 7 squares which can be black (1) or white (0). However, the color actually used on the products is not important - the main thing is that they differ from each other from the point of view of the scanner.

An example of decoding a barcode

Let's try to deal with one of the barcodes, for example 860009730078. This code begins with the number 8, respectively (see the first table), the LGLGGL codes should be used for the six left digits, and RRRRRR for the right one. That is, three consecutive zeros will have a different code and, accordingly, differ from each other in the form of stripes. Using the data from the previous two tables, we simulated the left, more complex, half of the barcode and combined it with the original. Oddly enough, but everything coincided:

Check digit calculation

The last digit of the EAN barcode is the control one. It confirms the correctness of entering the previous 12 digits and is calculated for each code as follows:

  • All numbers in even positions (second, fourth, sixth, etc.) are summed up and the result is multiplied by three.
  • All numbers on odd positions are summed up (first, third, fifth, etc.)
  • Both sums are added, and only the last digit is left of the result.
  • This figure is subtracted from 10.
  • The end result of these calculations is the check digit (ten corresponds to the digit 0)

For example, the check number for the EAN barcode shown in the figure "86000973007X", where "X" is the desired check digit, is calculated by adding all the digits in even positions (6 + 0 + 9 + 3 + 0 + 7 = 25), multiplied by three (25 x 3 = 75), the result is summed up with all the digits in odd positions (75 + 8 + 0 + 0 + 7 + 0 + 2 = 92), everything is discarded except the last digit (92 mod 10 = 2), subtracted out of 10 (10 - 2 = 8). The desired check number is digit 8.
