The Samsung smart TV remote does not work. Setting up and connecting the Samsung Smart Touch Control

Modern man is accustomed to living in comfort. We are increasingly surrounded by everyday and electronic devices, making life easier. Nowadays, it’s even difficult to imagine watching TV without a remote control. If you accidentally blocked the remote control - you pressed it unintentionally yourself or your children were playing, this seems like a huge problem, which we will help you solve in this article.

Ways to unlock the Samsung TV remote control

Important: if you cannot unlock the remote control using the methods described below, you should seek advice from experienced technicians at a Samsung TV repair service center.

Method one

Samsung TVs have a very useful mode for hotels - "HOTEL MODE". It blocks any actions from the remote control remote control. Sign of inclusion this mode, most often, is that you can only switch channels, but you cannot perform other actions from the remote control. To unlock it, you need to go to service menu. The key combination to enter this section is for different models different and, as a rule, specified in the documentation for the TV. If the information about entering this menu is not reflected, then you should use the following combinations:

  • On the remote control in standby mode, you need to press the “DISPLAY”, “MENU”, “POWER” buttons in turn. This must be done sequentially and with a minimum time interval between presses.
  • If that doesn’t help, try pressing the following keys in sequence: “MUTE”, “1”, “8”, “2”, “POWER”
  • As a rule, the following combination is suitable for European-built TVs: “STANDBY”, “DISPLAY”, “MENU”, “MUTE”, “POWER”

Entering engineering menu, reset all hotel mode settings.

Method two

Also, the remote control can be blocked in another way. Some remote control models become blocked due to falls or mechanical damage. To unlock a remote control that is locked for this reason, you need to remove the batteries from it, hold down the “POWER” button, and, without releasing the button, insert the batteries back. After performing this action, the lock should be removed.

If the remote control does not respond to button presses, then the batteries may be low. If replacing the batteries does not solve the problem, then it is most likely faulty. In this case, it is better to contact specialists to test it.

Hi all!
Yesterday I repaired the TV myself, using a grill grate.

My Samsung 5-series TV stopped responding to the volume buttons, then all the remote control and joystick buttons on the TV itself, and on 10/28/17 the TV stopped responding to the power off and sleep mode buttons.

Symptoms:
1. August 2017, the TV stopped responding to the volume buttons, while the signal reception indicator blinked, but the function did not work, the Smart Hub either worked or did not work. Because the TV is only needed to watch YouTube and sometimes 1 channel, this was critical;
2. September 2017, the TV stopped responding to all buttons on the remote control and joystick, except for the on/off and sleep mode buttons, but sometimes (late night, early morning) there was a reaction to all buttons, sometimes functions were reassigned between buttons;
3. On October 28, 2017, the TV stopped responding to all power and sleep buttons.

Finding a solution to the problem:
I’ll say right away that because... The TV is 3 years old and knowing that the same people as me work in the service centers, I decided to go to the Samsung service center or TV repair when I broke everything down myself, and the initial condition was to fix the TV without disassembling it, because it’s stupidly lazy.
The TV model is UE40H6230AK, but in the end you will understand that this information has nothing to do with the result:
1. I read almost all Russian-language forums in the CIS where problems with Samsung TVs were discussed (I learned a lot, thought a lot (no more than 10 minutes) and did it quickly);
2. Changed the batteries in the remote control (it didn’t help);
3. I disassembled and cleaned all the boards and contacts of the remote control with alcohol (alcohol did not help the remote control, but it helped me);
4. Checked the TV socket and power plug (it didn’t help);
5. I checked the power socket, took it apart, pulled out the contacts, reassembled it, checked the ground (it didn’t help);
6. I checked the protective zero and the circuit breaker in the distributor. shield, extended the contacts (did not help);
7. Reset Smart settings Hub through the menu (did not help);
8. Using the service password (from some forum), I reset the Smart Hub, the built-in browser settings, cleared the cache, turned off Wi-Fi (did not help);
9. Through an extended access password (from some forum) I gained access to all factory calibrations, settings and functions. There I was looking for the function to turn Bluetooth on/off, because even then, besides Bluetooth, I checked everything I could (it didn’t help);
10. Because everything anyone could do to help me. I already did support for Samsung, so I called there just to find out if it was possible to turn off Bluetooth. The technical support manager, using an external access password, repeated resets and resets, checked the factory settings, at the same time explaining that there is no software to turn Bluetooth on/off, you just have to disassemble and disconnect the antenna by hand, we also discussed with him the option of stupidly gluing half of the laptop to the TV and using the TV only as a screen - the conclusion was that it was premature (in general, it was interesting and pleasant to talk, but it didn’t help);
11. Consistently, observing the reaction to the buttons, I disconnected all devices and wires from the TV, turned off all devices with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in the apartment (it did not help);
12. Took cellular telephone and started the search Bluetooth devices under, above and around the TV, a device “Samsung TV 9th generation” was found. Under the TV the signal is stronger, obviously this is the TV of the neighbors below, to interrupt the signal you need a metal mesh or grate, which was found in the gas stove - a grill grate 500x500 mm.
I put the grill grate on the floor, under the carpet, under the right corner of the TV (there is a Bluetooth antenna) and all the functions of the TV worked without disassembling the TV, without a useless trip to diagnostics and service centers so that everyone could pay 500-1000 rubles for “watching”: )

In those. Samsung support over the phone did not deny that the seizure of the functions of one Samsung TV by another TV of an older generation is possible and they have no solution to the problem.
