Top games for ipad. Best free games for iOS rating

Let me remind you which games became game of the year. 2011 – The Adventures of Tintin – The Secret of the Unicorn, 2012 – GTA: Vice City, 2013 – GTA: San Andreas, 2014 – Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, 2015 – The Room Three, 2016 – Titan Quest.

Best Board Game – Through the Ages

This year has been rich in quality board games for the iPad. But the next one promises to be even more interesting, at least because Conquest of Mars and Sickle will be released. Through the Ages snatched the title of best board game in a fair fight from excellent implementation.

Best 3D Puzzle – The Witness

The Witness competed in this category with. I believe that these are two projects of equal importance and meaning. Two cool puzzles with a first-person view. In both games you need to solve various problems, wandering through locations that are incomprehensible at first glance. The Witness won Apple's Game of the Year - for once I support this decision, although we have other winners.

Best Puzzle – Splitter Critter

The classic mobile puzzle genre has a ton of worthy contenders every year. This time, the game about cutting the world and aliens has overtaken such applications as, etc. Splitter Critter is a mobile exclusive, there is no version for PC.

Best Free Game – Stranger Things: The Game

The series “Stranger Things” is so cool that the creators can afford to release a completely free game based on it. Even though it's pixelated, even if its gameplay is not far removed from the games of the 80s (as intended), it's definitely the best free game this year. And no in-app purchases!

Best Pixel Game – To the Moon

To the Moon I would like to give several awards. It has the most sob story. Atmosphere and plot of the year! There's also some great, catchy music. Soundtrack of the year! Taken together, To the Moon is the best pixel game of 2017. And this is with very decent and.

Best Children's Game – Ticket to Ride: First Journey

The best game for children is the children's version of the popular Ticket to Ride. The developers simplified the rules, added cool animation, and immediately created two maps (Europe and the USA). It turned out bright and not stupid. And the app costs only $2 in the App Store. The recommended age in my opinion is from 5 years.

The most beautiful game - Tokaido

Once again, the desktop port wins the award. But what can you do if the developers did their best? This year I can’t immediately remember the competitors for this nomination. Tokaido is a simple media strategy where travelers wander along the road and stop by to see various sights. Even people who are far from board games will like it.

The Crossroads add-on is currently being developed.

Best Arcade – Penarium

I think this is the most underrated game among our readers. Hardcore of the year - the difficulty is off the charts. Everything about Penarium is great, especially the fact that it is a toy unlike any other.

Best Roguelike – The Darkest Dungeon: Tablet Edition

In the Darkest Dungeon, the heroes go crazy, get diseases and phobias, go crazy, undergo treatment, pray and torture themselves... One thing cannot be taken away from them - despite adversity, they continue to clear locations from enemies. Inspired by the work of Howard Lovecraft, The Darkest Dungeon is the roguelike of the year. Sorry, !

Discovery of the year – Age of Rivals

The discovery of the year was a digital card game (it is not in cardboard), which, according to the rules and mechanics, is very similar to the famous 7 Wonders (but the implementation is not great). I played a lot and for a long time. The only negative (lack of varied art) I noticed only after the review. The gameplay is so good.

Beholder of the Year

Every year we have a special category for games that absolutely need to be celebrated in some special way! Beholder is a dystopian game about a totalitarian society, where denunciations on your neighbor, peeking through the keyhole and setups are the order of the day. Do you like unusual games like me? Do you like the survival genre? Do you like the books “1984” and “Brave New World”? Then Beholder is for you!

3rd place – The Talos Principle

It's unfair that The Witness got its award and The Talos Principle didn't. A gorgeous 3D puzzle with a philosophical overtone, a bunch of different levels and tasks. The Talos Principle wins Bronze Game of the Year.

2nd place – To the Moon

The story shown in To the Moon sank into my soul so much that I was ready to put it in first place. Unfortunately, this would not be fair. Still, there is more history, music and atmosphere in it than the game itself, and the tasks that the game offers are quite simple. Therefore, only second (well-deserved!) place!

What iOS releases did gamers remember in the past year? How did they manage to attract attention? Our selection will answer these questions. The first part of the list of the best iOS games of 2017 is in front of you. We do not claim to be the ultimate truth, so add to our list in the comments - we will be glad to hear your opinion.

Naruto x Boruto Ninja Voltage

Developers from Bandai Namco decided to revive the former glory of the well-known anime characters Naruto and Boruto on mobile platforms. But, in addition to ninjutsu techniques and combos, gamers received strategic elements that deepened the standard action mechanics. Building your own fortress and defending it with deadly traps turned out to be much more fun than you might expect. Thanks to a skillful combination of genres, this project quickly won its fans.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

The remake of the famous action-RPG, having reached iOS, pleased gamers with an updated game engine, completely redesigned, hand-drawn graphics, visual effects and an atmospheric soundtrack. We are promised 500 hours of gameplay and more than 450 useful items, co-op mode and controller support, many bosses and characters, as well as randomly generated locations in the style of roguelike games. Not every title can boast such a list of advantages, so its inclusion on our list is quite justified.

Playdead's INSIDE

The gloomy and atmospheric Limbo has found its ideological successor - the stylish 2D puzzler INSIDE, which combines excellent graphics with original puzzles. This game has won a huge number of various awards, it is deep and emotional, due to which it captivates you seriously and for a long time. Each of its landscapes is like a painting, but these paintings sometimes look very frightening, and the plot itself draws in the player, forcing him to empathize with the main character. Such projects cannot go unnoticed, you must agree.

Darkest Dungeon

The gothic atmosphere of Darkest Dungeon is immediately apparent, but in addition to the gloomy locations and monsters, this turn-based RPG also has elements of a psychological thriller. Your characters will have to fight not only the forces of evil - they will also face stress and paranoia, fears and attacks of irrational panic. Who knows what will be more dangerous - psychological problems or enemies... The heroes of the game will relieve stress in the same way as it happens in the real world: a couple of visits to the tavern, and they are again ready to go on raids through the most dangerous dungeons. The authors promise players roguelike mechanics, so that only those who managed to avoid the permadeath lurking around every corner will complete all 80 hours of gameplay.

Rules of Survival

The gameplay of this game, as close as possible to the famous PUBG, is based on the principles of royal battle, where survival is combined with shooter elements, and the ability to hide sometimes means more than the ability to attack the enemy head-on. To survive on an island full of dangers and competitors, players will have to search for weapons and ammunition, constantly navigate a shrinking map, avoid dangers and be not only careful, but also inventive. The battle royale gaming formula is implemented very well here, so the success and recognition of Rules of Survival is understandable.

C.A.T.S.: Crash Arena Turbo Stars

When street cats build fighting robots in the outskirts of everything that fell into their paws, and then organize battles for the right to become a leader, it looks, at least, unusual. And don’t be fooled by the cartoonish graphics or weird bot designs. Cats are ready to fight, challenging anyone and everyone, and their cars are truly deadly and will prove it in the PvP arena. The fights will be tough and uncompromising, so get ready for constant upgrades, without which in C.A.T.S. it is impossible to win.

Taichi Panda 3: Dragon Hunter

This MMORPG is not only spectacular, but also exciting. The action in it develops both on the ground and in the air, and flying on dragons over fantasy locations looks simply breathtaking. A large-scale game world depicted in 3D, multiplayer battles, pets and mounts, territory exploration and upgrades - everything that is typical for the genre is here. And this is not counting the charming characters with a strong personality.

Kingdom: New Lands

Every king wants to expand his domain, and the hero of Kingdom: New Lands does not sit on the throne of his native kingdom. He sets out on the road, exploring and annexing territories, fighting and collecting taxes - all for the greater purpose of the country's prosperity. The unique pixel style of this project, its interesting dialogues and locations, new characters and units are complemented by a successful soundtrack.

Dunkers 2

Not always, in order to get on the list of the best, a game needs sky-high graphics. Moreover, you can play street basketball, performing throws and tricks, with the help of cartoonish and humorous characters. Their appearance does not affect their skill, so choose any hero, customize it and challenge the game's AI or your friend in cooperative multiplayer. This streetball may not be realistic, but it is fun, exciting and easy to learn.

Sid Meier's Civilization VI

The inclusion of this game in the list of the best projects of the past year is quite expected. Such large-scale developments are rare on mobile platforms, and even more so if it is a complete and accurate port of a PC game, thoughtful and deep. 4X strategies have always been distinguished by a serious approach to gameplay and a huge amount of content. And this game is no exception. It will require gamers not only to be able to plan and set goals, but also to look for ways to implement them.

Hello dear friends! Finally, fresh game projects from the App Store and Google Play have accumulated. Despite the fact that developers traditionally delay the release of new games until the fall, when the holiday season ends, I managed to find something suitable. So let’s free up space on our gadgets, give it a like, and sit back and get comfortable.

We always have something to play. Eee... new asphalt. The drag wave reached Gameloft and it decided to displace such segment leaders as CSR Racing 2. In fact, the developers did not bring anything to the toy that could make it stand out. The same Extreme brought at least some kind of novelty, but here everything is as usual - races with real players, well, at least I hope so, almost endless purchase and pumping of cars. Everything is tied to currency, crystals and boxes. What really pleased me was the beautiful, but not realistic graphics, weather conditions, races not one on one, but four, good music, real licensed cars and styling. It's a shame you can't play offline.

As usual, get ready to enjoy all the delights of a budget game against those who donate. And yes... don't buy the Renault Megane. A terrible car, just like everything that ends with O. And this is perhaps the most beautiful simulator of pressing two buttons in a racing setting. I always thought that controlling two buttons in racing was only possible in drag, but, as it turned out, you can drift like that too. The Racekings developers decided to implement the concept of drifting with simple controls and they succeeded. At the exit, we are offered to participate in paired races, where we need to make a perfect start, tighten the handbrake in time before turning, hold the speed and beautifully enter the straight line, with the pedal sunk to the floor. Actually the whole gameplay. All actions take place with real opponents, so an active Internet connection is required. They won't let you burn rubber offline.

Off the track, we buy licensed cars and upgrade them. Real money rules the game. You can play without investing money, but in this case it will be extremely difficult to cross the finish line first. Well, I mean this against a loaded duelist. The graphics, special effects and soundtrack are up to par, but the races themselves can hardly be called races. It's more of an arcade game in which you need to tap the buttons accurately and quickly, respectively, with a bright and expensive wrapper. But it’s hard to tear yourself away from this musical arcade game. We need to tap on the display in time to overcome obstacles to the beat of the music. But this is only half the trouble. The second button is responsible for inverting the color of the main character. If there is a black wall in front of us, then only by painting it black is it possible to pass through it. We do the same with white barriers. There are also horizontal colored platforms. Here you already need to have time to choose the opposite color. And all this happens at a high tempo with wild dynamics and a very cool soundtrack.

It is unlikely that you will be able to complete the location even on the tenth attempt. At the moment, the developers suggest trying to play in the first two locations. You will have to pay for the remaining four, but the first two are enough to test your dexterity, intelligence and click speed, or rather tap. A truly original music project with very hardcore gameplay. The main device cannot be damaged.

I haven’t played the previous two parts of Hopeless, but I definitely liked the third one. In this arcade we will be offered to make forays on a cart over more than 50 levels, saving our relatives and destroying flying and crawling creatures. I really liked the atmosphere of the project. Funny yellow jelly droplets cutting through the hot spots with an eerie atmosphere are in great contrast. It turned out to be straight up horror. To successfully complete the level, you need to finish off as few of your relatives as possible, keep the crew and fellow stars at the level. To do this, you need to regularly pump up the guns, improve the cart, buy ammunition and, of course, shoot accurately in bursts, saving ammunition. The game is in Russian, available offline without advertising and free to download. There is a donation, but with skillful gaming you can do without it.

Those who don't have enough games about zombies can pay attention to the fresh pixel sequel in the Dead Ahead universe. Traveling through an infected two-dimensional world, we need to go through locations filled with the walking dead. The task of each level is to save the bus by generating units, throwing barrels correctly, collecting items and applying tactical skills. Next - upgrade and hit the road again to complete new quests. Although the meditative toy does not have outstanding graphics, the main thing is the process. A cold miscalculation is needed here, because the semi-sluggish guys have a healthy reserve of health and are also capable of tactical maneuver. Personally, I miss offline. Cheating zombies will only be fun if you have a stable connection. This is also done to prevent the playful little hands of gamers from cheating.

After the release of the most gorgeous MMO game Battle Bay, I was already thinking that Rovio decided to let the cash cow die, or, well, retire it, and how wrong I was when Evolution was released in the App Store and Google Play. Here you will find painfully familiar birds and pigs, and the process of sorting things out has never been better described by the phrase - the same eggs, only in profile. On the game board we will play towns, sending birds to cause damage. The key points will be a well-chosen team of birds with good skill, marksmanship with effective ricochets, knowledge of the weak points of pig bosses and the ability to use obstacles and objects located in the location. Otherwise, Angry Birds Evolution is a three-dimensional journey of discovering new birds, and there are more than 100 species of them, and upgrading them. And all this is tied to PvP battles with real players. No one will let you chop offline. For the most effective leveling, the developers strongly recommend spending half your salary on In-App.

If you miss an interactive shooting range, then Zombie Gunship Survival will appeal to you. While the soldiers carry out their missions bravely, we will shoot the dead from large-caliber weapons mounted on a circling plane. There are many such mission plans. In addition, it is necessary to rebuild the base and increase the line of defense, repelling zombie attacks. Of course, there is the purchase and upgrade of guns on the plane. The graphics can hardly be called attractive. Still, we will look through optics with night vision mode, as far as I understand. The toy can hardly be called diverse, but shooting animals is quite fun.

Everyone loved to fly airplanes as a child, but this game is not about that. In this time killer you need to fly as far as possible through the tunnel, moving quickly in a horizontal plane. The walls are in motion, and we need to stick to the chosen color, which will change on special paths. At first, everything happens quite slowly and it even causes bewilderment, like, what’s wrong with this. Then the pace increases, the airplane flies faster, the walls move more intensely, and corridors appear in distant corners. That's when it becomes interesting to play. The graphics are minimalistic, the music is pleasant. Filling a pause in a queue or a couple of metro stations is just the thing.

This is not the game I expected from Pixelbite at all. The Reckless Racing series is why we love this campaign. If in it we are asked to become a rally master, then in the recently debuted review we need to get away from the police, who will catch you anyway. It's only a matter of time. The controls are simple, the graphics are nice, I like the destruction model, but the lack of a clear campaign is frustrating. Endless games are only good for running for 5-10 minutes maximum and then they quickly get boring. This fate befell Reckless Getaway 2. Yes, it’s beautiful, yes, it’s a paddle, and it’s dynamic. But it gets boring quickly. It's good that at least the project is free.

Have the developers from Ketchapp, who release one-finger games almost every day, managed to make a more or less sensible free arcade game that you could play to the end? In Rider we got some kind of flawed motorcycle in which you can only control the gas. Turn the handle on the ground and the bike accelerates in the air; you need to do a somersault so that the moped does not end up on top after landing. The matter would not be tricky if not for 100 intricate locations and a bunch of engines that still need to be discovered. To complete a level you need to complete various tasks to collect bonuses and perform tricks. The graphics are drawn in the style of the remake of the film Tron. Rider is a cool and hardcore arcade game. A real time killer. Well, that's all!

A selection of cool games for the iOS operating system for 2019.

Navigation

Today, computer games occupy the top spot in the entertainment sector. Their range is so huge that many people simply get lost in this ocean of pixels and cannot make a choice.
Especially for such people, numerous popular gaming portals and little-known bloggers create selections of games based on their personal experience or the impressions of experienced players, and for some, the developers of these same games simply pay for advertising.
We decided not to lag behind and created our own selection of games for the iOS mobile platform, which, in our opinion, contains the best games for 2019.

10th place. FIFA 16: Ultimate Team

FIFA 16: Ultimate Team

  • Perhaps this is the best football simulator that has ever existed on mobile devices. The previous part of the FIFA series of games was great, and it would seem that it was impossible to improve it, but, as it turned out, it was possible. And how!
  • The developers completely overhauled the game engine, improved the physics and improved the graphics so that the football players on the screen are almost impossible to distinguish from real people.
  • The player is invited to take part in 30 leagues and friendly matches, choose any of the 500 teams existing in the world or create his own from the 15,000 available football players. Complete the single player championship, win the cup and compete with a live opponent online.
  • There are also many different techniques, feints and beautiful game replays available in the game. The opportunity to train your team, build a strategy, develop your own playing style and tactics.
  • It is simply impossible to describe all the advantages of the game, since there are countless of them. A must download for all football fans!

9th place. Worms 3: Revolution

Worms 3: Revolution

  • The famous strategy, released more than 20 years ago on PC, has now reached iOS. Funny and slightly crazy worms again hit each other's faces and destroy everything in their path, destroying entire islands.
  • The essence of the game remains the same, however, especially for iOS, the developers from Team 17 added additional maps, new weapons and slightly changed the wind correction, which affects the trajectory of the projectile. Now it can be installed for any weapon, including firearms.
  • The player has a choice of 30 maps, several new locations have been added, and it is possible to fight with the computer offline or with a real opponent on the Internet.
  • What is good news is that the developers completely translated the game into Russian, and did it very well. Worms make funny jokes, get offended and “swear” in youth slang.
  • If you want to relax your soul, let off steam and have fun, the game is a must-purchase.

8th place. Angry Birds Go

  • The world-famous angry birds have stopped committing suicide and started driving wooden cars. This is the first part of a series of games about angry birds in 3D graphics.
  • The player will have to drive along the tracks of Pig Island, where various dangers await him, as well as numerous useful things, collecting which he can improve his wooden race cars.
  • In the race, the birds compete with their sworn enemies, green pigs, who are always trying to do some kind of dirty trick. During the race, you can ram your opponents, throw them off a cliff, and much more. The player can also play for all the characters, each of which has a unique skill that helps in the competition.
  • The game is controlled using both buttons and an accelerometer. The game is suitable for audiences of any age and will not make anyone bored.

7th place. GT Racing 2: The Real Car Experience

  • Another race in our review that we couldn’t help but mention. Gameloft has released the second part of GT Racing, which is distinguished by amazing graphics and the most realistic physics, as well as the absence of any unnecessary options, such as setting up a profile, choosing a track, a car and other nonsense. Simply launch the game and you are already at the start.
  • Unlike other existing races, in GT Racing 2 the player can feel like the pilot of a real racing car and experience all the difficulties and delights of driving. Thanks to the game physics model, which is as close to reality as possible, driving a sports car will not be easy. You need to take into account the dimensions of the car when overtaking, hold the steering wheel when drifting and cope with bad weather.
  • The game features more than 70 cars, about 1,300 race tracks, changing weather conditions and time of day, as well as upgrading and tuning your car in the garage.

6th place. Real Boxing

  • A wonderful fighting game with beautiful 3D graphics that are on par with console and computer games. Feel the same emotions and experience of playing boxing as on PC or Xbox.
  • In addition to stunning graphics, the game has easy, but quite thoughtful controls. You shouldn’t just swing your fists in the ring, sending blows to the block, as characters tend to get tired. Measure your blows carefully, throw jabs, hooks and uppercuts, press your opponent against the ropes and try not to hit him in the face.
  • The game has a career mode, which consists of 30 fights with various opponents, a fighter training mode, an online fight mode with real opponents, and the ability to connect the device to a TV to play on the big screen.
  • You can also create your own unique fighter, choose his uniform, hairstyle and get tattoos, which you can choose from a standard set or draw yourself. Fans of fighting will definitely like the game.

5th place. Infinity Blade III

  • A large-scale and impressive fantasy action game based on the 3D Unreal Engine, which has soared to the top of paid applications in the App Store.
  • The player will play as one of two available characters, Siris or Isa, who have teamed up with King Raidriar to jointly destroy the forces of evil, led by a certain Keeper of Secrets. They go on a long journey, the purpose of which is to find the Infinity Blade. Only with its help can one destroy the immortal titans controlled by the Guardian.
  • Each character has its own class. Siris is a powerful warrior, easily wielding melee weapons and charging through crowds of enemies like a tank. Isa is a fast and agile archer, capable of destroying many enemies before they even notice her.
  • The game features a huge arsenal of weapons, artifacts and magic spells, a wide range of quests, a large number of different monsters and a well-thought-out character leveling system.
  • Download and immerse yourself in the amazing fantasy adventures of seven epic stories available to play through.

4th place. Five Nights at Freddy's 2

  • The second part of the most famous horror quest to date, which has won leadership in its genre on devices with the iOS operating system. The game was so loved by users that the developers tried their best and even created a version for PC.
  • The events take place in the same Freddy’s pizzeria, where the main character needs to hold out until dawn for ten nights in a row. But it's not that simple. He is being hunted by bloodthirsty mechanical puppets, eager to remove his scalp and skin in order to put them on themselves and give their appearance a “living” appearance.
  • Unlike the previous part, the player will not have the opportunity to hide from evil toys behind doors. There are none in the room at all. The only chance to stay alive is to look at the CCTV cameras as often as possible and shine a flashlight in the eyes of the evil creatures in time. The flashlight's battery is limited.
  • The game is quite scary and keeps you in suspense, so we do not recommend playing it for people with weak nerves. The entire game process is accompanied by eerie music that will give you goosebumps and make your hair stand on end. Let's go on adventures.

3rd place. Zombie Highway

  • A unique runner of its kind, the action takes place in a post-apocalyptic world full of zombies. The goal of the game is to drive your car as far as possible, avoiding obstacles on the road and shooting back from zombies that keep jumping onto your SUV from the side, clinging to the doors and trying to get into the cabin.
  • The game has amazing graphics and wonderful physics, and zombies flying into pieces from shots look very epic. There are 8 tracks, 5 types of cars and 17 types of weapons available to complete. Try it and you won't regret it.

2nd place. Rival Knights

  • Such an original, colorful and exciting game has never been released on any existing platform, which is why it gets second place on our list.
  • The hero of our game is an ordinary guy who decided to win the hearts of the most beautiful girls of the Middle Ages and surpass all the brave knights in the use of bladed weapons. Having donned heavy armor and mounted a horse, our hero accepts a challenge from the knights of the Seven Orders and is forced to fight with them in duels.
  • The player will have to take part in medieval knightly tournaments, the essence of which is to throw the enemy off his horse, accelerating along the barrier.
  • Your rivals will be knights from the Seven Orders, including bosses. If you are confident in your abilities, you can take part in online tournaments and compete with real players. As the game progresses, your knight will need to train his striking power, upgrade his armor, and practice horse riding.
  • The developers tried to convey the atmosphere of the Middle Ages as much as possible and they succeeded. Great graphics and epic fights make the game unforgettable and interesting. Download, fight, win!

1 place. Gangstar Vegas

  • An incredible single-player gangster action game, released by Gameloft exclusively for mobile platforms, won the hearts of fans of such legendary games as GTA and Mafia.
  • According to the plot, the hero of the game is a young guy who unwillingly became a participant in underground battles, where he was noticed by representatives of a mafia clan and offered to earn extra money. During the course of the task, the guy is framed and, dreaming of revenge, he joins another criminal group.
  • The player will have to steal cars, get weapons, commit burglaries and kill on order. The game features a huge number of weapons, cars and motorcycles, and various situations on the city streets will not make you bored.
  • Bloody fights, shootouts with the police, races and street riots make the game dynamic and interesting, and the incredible graphics, detailed objects and realistic character movements will take your breath away.
  • You can talk a lot about this game, but all its charms cannot be expressed in words. Even if you are not a big fan of this genre, the game will still leave you with a pleasant impression. She's worth the money.

VIDEO: Top 10 best games on iOS

For comparison, you can look at an alternative selection of the best iOS games from an American reviewer.
