Open the notification panel and select a map. 13 Getting started Charging the battery Before using the device for the first time, you must charge the battery using the charger. You can also connect the device to your computer using a USB cable to charge the battery. Use only Samsung-approved batteries, chargers, and cables. Using incompatible chargers and cables may cause the battery to explode or damage the device. When the battery is running low, the empty battery icon appears. If the battery is completely discharged, it is impossible to turn on the device, even if you connect it to a charger. To turn on the device, you should wait a few minutes until the battery charges a little. Using multiple apps at the same time, or apps that require connection to other devices, drains your battery faster. To avoid being disconnected from the network or draining the battery while data is being transferred, these applications should always be run with a fully charged battery. Insert the charger plug into the universal connector of your device, then connect Charger to an electrical outlet. Connecting the charger incorrectly can cause serious damage to your device. The warranty does not cover any damage resulting from misuse of the device and accessories. 14 Getting Started You can use the device while the battery is charging, but this will slow down the charging process. If the device receives unstable power while charging, the touch screen may not respond to touch. In this case, disconnect the charger from your device. The device may become warm while charging. This is normal and does not affect the performance or life of the device. If the battery gets hotter than usual, the charger may stop working. Reduce screen brightness. 15 Getting started Using a memory card Inserting a memory card The device supports memory cards with a maximum capacity of 64 GB. The compatibility of memory cards with your device depends on the type of card and its manufacturer. Some memory cards may not be compatible with your device. Using an incompatible memory card may damage your device, the card itself, or the data stored on it. Insert the memory card with the correct side up. The device supports memory cards with file system FAT and exFAT. If you insert a memory card with a file system other than FAT, the device will prompt you to format the card. Frequently deleting and writing data will shorten the life of memory cards. The resulting electrostatic discharge may cause the touch screen to malfunction or become damaged. To avoid damaging the touchscreen, do not touch it with sharp objects or press too hard with your fingers. The device may not recognize touches near the edges of the screen because they are outside the touch input area. If the touchscreen is left in standby mode for a long time, image trailing (screen burn-in) and artifacts may appear on the touchscreen.
