World of tanks is winding down. WoT crashes on startup

It happens that you are sitting playing your favorite computer toy and suddenly the window has rolled up! You were thrown to the desktop. Sound familiar? If this happens once a year or a month, then there is no point in paying attention, but if games are canceled regularly, something needs to be done about it. Basically, a similar problem is seen on computers running Windows control 7, although the “expert” sometimes suffers from similar “glitches”. So why do windows roll up, and what can you do about it?

Causes

When games in 7 are minimized almost every 3 minutes, comfortable relaxation and entertainment at the computer is out of the question. And you don’t really think about the reasons for such oddities - you want to quickly remove this “functionality” and relax while completing the next mission or sweat over an exciting online tank battle. This can also happen when watching movies and videos in full screen.

So what is the reason why games and videos are being phased out and where does the problem lie? The games themselves running on Windows 7 have nothing to do with it. It turns out there are countless options. The malfunction itself is correctly referred to as “spontaneous minimization of active windows.” It can arise either in licensed Windows 7, and in the pirated assembly. For some users, games are minimized due to:

  • incorrect operation of programs such as Firewall;
  • “operation curve” of software from a USB modem;
  • incorrect functionality of the Wi-Fi router utility.
  • Due to some driver programs.

In any case, the culprit is usually some process, the termination of which (even if forced) solves the problem.

How to get rid

You should start by launching the Task Manager. Hold down the Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys on your keyboard and select the desired item in the menu that opens. Go to the processes tab of your Windows 7.

Ideally, you should carefully study the entire list for strange processes. But it is not so simple and requires a lot of knowledge. But there are some general recommendations. Let's consider them. First, there are two processes: ouc.exe and TWCU.exe.

The ouc.exe process is unlikely to appear if you do not use a USB modem from MTS. If one is connected to your computer or laptop, and the windows are minimized every now and then, then consider that the answer has been found! This notorious ouc.exe creates problems on a Windows 7 computer that are similar to the action of a Trojan program. But in essence, this is a small program that checks for updates for the modem.

If you find this process in your system, you can forcefully terminate it. If there are several processes with the letters ouc, end them all. Log into the game and check the result. If the windows no longer roll up, congratulations. But the trouble is that ouc will have to be completed every time Windows startup 7. The only way to completely get rid of the interfering process once and for all is to remove all MTS software and abandon the modem.

Still, it’s easier to “kill” the process every time it boots. You can automate the process by creating a file in Notepad with the following content:

taskkill /f /IM ouc.exe

DEL/F /Q "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Connect Manager\ouc.exe"

replacing USERPROFILE with your username. Save the file to your desktop with the .bat extension. Running it will close the process.

TWCU.exe - program TP-Link routers. The recipe is the same as in the previous case: stop using the router and remove all its software or end the process every time you start Windows 7.

If it doesn't help

Why else can games crash on Windows 7, because the above two examples are not always a solution:

  • Open Start.
  • In the Run line, type msconfig and press Enter.
  • Examine the list for the item “Realteck HD Manager”.
  • If there is one, uncheck the box and reboot.

Make sure there is no such process in the Task Manager. After this, games on Windows 7 should stop crashing involuntarily.

Computer games collapse on their own during the game itself. This problem occurs quite often. There could be many reasons for it. In this article on our website we will try to talk in detail about situations when some changes are made in the work personal computer, due to which some applications and games may crash spontaneously.

1. The problem may lie in overheating of computer or laptop components. When the video card overheats, freezes or artifacts appear in the game, and when it overheats too much, games freeze or crash.

2. It is possible that the problem is with the keyboard. Start the game and do not touch it, having first disconnected the keyboard. It is possible to “work” with hotkey combinations, and as a result, false keyboard activations begin. Sticky keys may also occur. Try replacing the keyboard with another one.

3. Without visible windows, some process starts, and therefore the windows that are active at that moment are minimized. Download Process Explorer and Autoruns (it is needed to control startup). Filemon – performs the function of monitoring process access to files. Download the entire Sysinternals Suite for a more in-depth system scan.

4. There is a possibility of shortage random access memory. This may affect the curtailment of programs that are particularly demanding on computer resources. As a solution to the problem, you can add RAM. They may also interfere Skype programs, RocstarGames.

5. The presence of a virus is another problem. And not just any one, but Win32.Sality. Different antiviruses define it differently, but the general name remains the same. What is he capable of, and should he be treated urgently? Naturally! This virus not only is it the answer to the question that worries you about why games are being discontinued. This is the smallest dirty trick he is capable of. More precisely, just a side effect. "Sality" infects the majority executable files on your computer, penetrates most files and folders, and also creates copies of itself on removable media. Not only regular programs are affected, but also antiviruses, which makes treating your computer problematic. In addition, it functions as an autoloader, spy and keylogger. In addition, the virus blocks safe mode, Registry Editor and Task Manager.

6. If you are using a USB modem, then this is most likely the cause of game crashes. The fact is that the modem regularly checks for driver updates on the Internet, and this is what causes the game to crash. This can be treated simply by uninstalling the program for servicing the modem. There is no problem here. It will work without it. On the other hand, you can enter in command line command “msconfig”, in the window that appears, go to the “Services” tab and uncheck the box next to “OUC” or another service responsible for updating software modem

You can try to figure out the reasons for minimizing windows yourself; now you know where to look for the problem.

The first difficulties may begin at the stage of the game launcher. If the launcher crashes after launching, you will need to configure it correctly.

  1. Remove the Updates and Wargaming.net folders from the system Windows folders: XP C:\Documents and Settings\UseName\Local Settings\temp, Vista and Win 7 C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Temp
  2. Launch the launcher again, specifying port 6881 and using a torrent connection.
  3. We add the game to the firewall and antivirus exceptions (if you are using a standard firewall, this is done directly in the launcher settings).

Launcher freezes, gear spins

If you see a picture like this, try the following:

The game crashes after clicking "Play"

Launcher launched normally, but when you press the “Play” button it doesn’t start or the game client itself crashes? The following options are possible.

System requirements do not meet

Although WoT performs well on older PCs, there are minimum requirements, without which the game will not start. Only upgrading your computer will help.

Wrong graphics settings

Crashes are possible if you used graphics settings higher than the computer can handle. Difficulties can begin both during the battle and when the game itself starts.
To resolve this, select more modest graphics settings, starting with the recommended settings.

Rights and Compatibility Issues

Security systems in new operating systems (from Vista and newer) do not always provide games with comfortable conditions for launching. Try running Tanki with administrator rights and in compatibility mode.

  1. Click right click mouse over the WoT shortcut and select “Properties”.
  2. Go to the “Compatibility” tab.
  3. We set the level of rights and check various compatibility modes.

Drivers for video card are not suitable

To run the game correctly and ensure good performance, be sure to install drivers on your video card.

  1. Visit the NVIDIA or AMD/ATI website to find a driver for your device.
  2. Select your video card model from the list on the website.
  3. Download the full installer (we do not recommend using the update).
  4. Install the drivers.

Windows system components are missing

For correct operation of Tanks, quite a lot of auxiliary programs are required. If they are not on your computer, you will not be able to launch World of Tanks. Let's briefly go through the components necessary for launch. link).

Individual case

If all the above recommendations do not help, you should contact the Wargaming.net support forum to resolve the issue. To get an accurate decision, be as informative as possible when preparing your application.

  • PC configuration;
  • under what circumstances does the game crash?
  • what have you already tried to solve;

We hope that these methods will allow you to resolve the issue of client crashes and help you enjoy playing Tanks to the fullest. If none of this helps, try deleting it and again, or write in the comments, we will try to help you.

It's always like this when you want to play your favorite game World of Tanks and the client starts to crash, especially after long-awaited updates. Usually, when entering the game, immediately after entering your username and password, then when loading a battle, then when entering the hangar, then right in battle (the most infuriating thing, isn’t it 😉) you should never put up with this! Take care of your nerves 😉 How to cope with crashes, read on...

First, let's figure it out, does WoT crash when you double-click on the game launcher?

That is, after launching the launcher, nothing happens or a white window pops up, and then, according to the developers’ idea, the game client should start, but nothing happens.
If you have just such a problem, then, since in this article we will talk about client crashes after the launcher, in other words, starting from the authorization window (login and password).
Here we go…

WoT crashes when starting the client

So, we launched the launcher:

entered your username and password, pressed the “ TO COME IN"and here it is - crash... You are back at your desk, full of anger and disappointment... but this is not the time to sigh and be sad we are struggling -> here it will help us clearing cache, if this is your case of a client crash, then go clear the cache, read more about clearing in the article
Well, if this is not your case, read the article further...

And in order not to waste your time, we will start with removing mods. Thus, we will establish the cause of the crashes, and here there are only two reasons, either the mods are to blame, or something is wrong with your computer (drivers, hardware). Deleted??? Let's launch and see... the crashes are gone? MODS are evil, they are to blame, how to fight, read. If the crashes remain, then read the article further or after 3 paragraphs.

Well, what can you do... first, try reinstalling the games, maybe the files are damaged, and your playful hands could have done this 😉 or some kind of virus (for example, after installing a mod pack from the left resources) especially if you magically got all kinds of Yandex browser , mail services, etc. Personally, I would immediately go download Dr.Web CureIt!® and then put my trusty hardware to check installed antivirus. Of course it's up to you, you can get away with simply reinstalling the client.
This should help, but if this is not your case, you are welcome to read the article further...

If there are sound problems, install latest drivers for your audio card from the manufacturer's website:
